12/18/2008A complete model of PD2008 (sans commentary or PA announcements) is now rendering. Tomorrow, I plan to record most, if not all, of my voice tracks for the event. Saturday, I'm planning to get all the audio edited and in-sync and hopefully out the door. Expect the event Saturday or Sunday. It's almost time. On another note, the entire event is 3 hours, 32 minutes long.

12/19/2008[/u] Huge setback, guys. I started rendering the commentary-free event last night immediately after I posted my last entry, and about an hour later, my computer did an auto-update and restarted without my knowledge. So, I wake up at 6 and I find that I'm at my computer's start-up screen...so, I restarted rendering at 6:30 AM. The way things are going, I don't think it'll be up until Sunday. But stranger things have happened. I'll just play the waiting game for now.

Well you could say its meant to be posted on Sunday ;D But yeah we've waited this long one more day shouldn't hurt that badly.
On another note are you sure the file isn't to big for Google Video to accept?

No idea about file size. Usually Google and Megavideo are good with bigger files, so I'm not too worried. The only thing I'm worried about is Veoh, whose uploader, for some strange reason won't accept files bigger than 2GB (and it's not because there's a limit, which is weird).
If, for some reason, files won't work, I'll split the event up into two parts. It doesn't preserve the illusion of a full event, but it's something I'm willing to do if it won't upload as one big video.

Alright, lets get this show on the road. I have more than 3 hours of free time. I'll be waiting to catch it next week since I'm heading to Canada.

12/21/2008All right, good news and bad news. Good news: everything's finished rendering. The bad news: I still have to do PA and PBP. I've learned valuable lessons about the production process every time I do these events, and I'm learning one with PD2008...that one is to "render every match and segment individually before putting it together in one file". The render time was off the charts simply because I didn't choose to render every video segment I put in the timeline. My computer has rendered, non-stop, from 6:30 AM Friday to 1:20 AM Sunday. Important lesson learned, ladies and gents. It won't happen again because of that. Technically-intensive events yield...well, technically-intensive render times. So, tonight, I'm going to attempt PA. Tomorrow, it's PBP. As for the time it'll be posted? Either Sunday or Monday. I only have to go to work for two hours (I don't know why either) on Monday, so I basically have the whole day to sync and edit commentary to my liking, if it indeed comes to that. But then again, if all goes well, I won't rule Sunday night out. So for now, I've changed the post date to "either Sunday or Monday". I don't really mind if I don't post on "CAW Day" since I'd rather spend enough time to get the best possible quality to come through on the audio side of things. But the video portion of the event is, indeed, rendered and ready to go.

Take your time man I think all of us are going to have enough CAW to watch tomorrow.

All I can say is that all of you should wait to hear my "breathtaking" commentary. . . A nice Christmas gift to all of you (Sorry Stern, take a note from Kyle Broflofski)

Aww, poor Kyle. Song's a classic though. Stern would probably lay someone the fuck out if they made fun of his religious affiliation.
Anyhoo, time to lock this thread up. The video's now uploading. Thanks to all you who've stuck around here and sat through all my countless entries. After the event's up, I'll be creating a spoilers thread...see you there.
