This board has been dead so I thought I'd take my SMF topic here and hope it ignites something.
I was thinking about some guys who got the world title but should never should have even been in the same room as it (Khali). I was thinking, who should have won the title but has not held it before. You can go in the past if you wish.
I say in the WWE, I say Razor Ramon should have been world champ but the fucker left to WCW with Nash too soon and you know what happened after that.
In TNA, Christopher Daniels. He's just damn good. TNA should have taken a different route with their style but they opted to go with WWE/WCW lite and that's where they lost their way.
Post your thoughts.

Two guys that should have won the strap back in the day are Jake "The Snake" Roberts and "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase.

Khali shouldnt have been champion? I guess you the idea of freakishly large and strong person who got lots of heel heat being portraited as an almost invincilbe dominate heel is a bad thing
anyways
Ted has gotta be the biggest missed ship he was one of the most notable heels of the time. he should have kept the title after buying from Andre and drop it to Savage at Wrestlemania rather than that tournament
as for who shouldnt have been champion CM Punk, his World title reign was pretty crappy all he really did was beat JBL over and over again which probably would have meant something in 2004/early 05 but not in 2008 when he lost a good amount of credibility and it was way too early, with the exception of the hard on he gives most people on the internet from being a former RoH champion, he wasn't World champion over

Going to chime in here with two who probably weren't because they died.
Davey Boy Smith and Owen Hart.
For me Davey Boy was the best British wrestler ever.

1. Jake Roberts. If he didn't screw himself up with his drug use, I'd say he'd be one of the better World Champions in history. 2. Dean Malenko. A vastly underappreciated talent who, despite what Sheiky Baby says about "beatin' da FACK out-eh", is one of the premier technical wrestlers of our era. If Ring of Honor was around during Malenko's time, I have no doubt he would have been a World Champion there. Say what you will about his apparent lack of charisma or his stature, but he's one of those guys who bookers fucked around all too often. 3. Kerry Von Erich (In WWF). I know, Kerry was probably the biggest talent in World Class, but he quickly became a jobber during his time in the WWF, despite being tremendously over at one point. Maybe it was due to his prosthetic leg, I don't know...but he deserved much better in Vinny Mac's promotion, maybe even a World Title shot. 4. Owen Hart. Yet another excellent wrestler who, sadly, never got the main event push he deserved. If he hadn't died before his time, I would think he'd eventually be a champion somewhere. By the way, where's his WWE Hall of Fame induction? If someone like Koko B. Ware made it in, why can't Owen? 5. Dynamite Kid. A tremendous, revolutionary talent whose only exposure stateside was through a tag-team. His style would eventually be popularized by Chris Benoit, who was a tremendously loyal Dynamite fan (as said in his "Hard Knocks" documentary). Why the WWF didn't give him a chance at a solo career (like Davey Boy Smith) is beyond me. 6. Ted DiBiase. Gotta agree with Vince and Mala here, simply because Ted was one of the biggest heels in the 80's and, strangely, never held the WWF Championship. He could hold his own in the ring with anyone, and he's a very underrated technician. 7. Magnum T.A.. Another wrestler who never got a chance to become World Champion because of a personal tragedy. Magnum would have competed for the NWA Championship at Starrcade against Ric Flair had he not become paralyzed in a car accident.
