SALT LAKE CITY, UT: In an unprofessional decision Tuesday evening, former URWL Tag Team Champions The Downfall Syndicate have skipped a house show in Salt Lake City. Scheduled to wrestle against Merle & Hog, Wes Tomerka and Adrien Carnage failed to check in with URWL road agents and URWL booking personnel at Salt Lake City's E Center, which led to the match's cancellation and an early finish to the event, which was originally scheduled to run from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM MDT.
Phone calls to Mr. Carnage and Mr. Tomerka's cellular phones and homes were unanswered and unreturned as of Friday night. As punishment, their URWL Tag Team Titles match against new champions The Great White North at this Saturday's house show in Colorado Springs, Colorado has been cancelled and replaced with a three-way dance between Carl Load, Merle Haggard Junior and Kyle Stafford.
According to URWL contractual obligations, skipping house shows is in breach of contract and is subject to suspension, fines and, in the worst case, termination of contract.
Currently, The Downfall Syndicate will not be booked to wrestle on Episode 9 of URWL Wrestling. A booking on Episode 10 is possible, however. If DFS were to miss a televised event like Episode 10, the possible penalties that may arise will be more severe than if they were to miss another house show.
More information on this puzzling series of events will be revealed as it comes in.
