Who Is Aleksandar Kuleshov?

(ORCHARD PARK, NY) - As URWL wrestlers are already off to celebrate the holidays with their families before the upcoming Discontent Pay-Per-View, one certain URWL worker is finding himself a world away from home and family this Christmas. He is the newest URWL talent acquisition, former mixed martial artist and kickboxer for the 2000 Russian Olympic team, Aleksandar Kuleshov.

In a press conference, URWL Chief Executive Officer Goldash007 claimed Kuleshov will undoubtedly better the quality of wrestling talent on the URWL roster. "Aleksandar Kuleshov brings something new to the table. You won't see suplexes, moonsaults or powerbombs out of this guy. He can dominate you with kicks, technical submissions and intensity. He's an Olympian, folks. That should say it all. He had the drive, the attitude and the physicality to dominate the MMA circuit, and he now has the power to change how we look at wrestling here in the URWL."

Through his interpreter and agent, Dusan Maltsev, Mr. Kuleshov explained how jumping from mixed martial arts to professional wrestling will undoubtedly change the way the URWL is perceived in the wrestling community. "I want to thank the URWL for this opportunity. The world of mixed martial arts has treated me well, but I think the jump I am making to the professional wrestling circuit will show my true skill." Despite not knowing the English language well enough, Kuleshov (still through his interpreter) stated, "I don't need to speak on the microphone to get over. My actions in the ring are my speech...my attacks, the words...my holds, the sentences. My messages speak universally."

Kuleshov, before signing his contract with the URWL, spent three years in a Japanese mixed martial arts league, using a hybrid style of kickboxing and jiu-jitsu. His record of 19-9-2 proved how proficient his attacks and holds can be. Despite never winning a major title belt in his former MMA promotion, Aleksandar thinks he'll be able to strike gold in the URWL. "This is the opportunity I have waited for. As soon as I'm able to perform in front of an American audience, I'll be in the title picture."

Kuleshov is scheduled to debut on Episode 5 of URWL on YouTube in January 2008.

No, a match with Akina will not be interesting. Aleksandar is boring. He's all punches so far. And Goldash, don't think of this comment as a shot to you. I watch this as you don't really exist or listen to feedback directly. So right now, this guy kind of resembles Khali and his annoying chops. I'm waiting for this guy to slam someone MMA style. He's got to know some.

I'm finding ways to improve him because I want him to be strictly MMA styled but it's pretty hard considering Smackdown vs. Raw doesn't have true MMA moves like Fire Pro does (with the exception of the Triangle Hold).

MMA guys use real slams that I'm sure Smackdown has. I'm not saying the guy should use a springboard clothesline or anything but there has to be some. I remember a slam that they inserted into Here Comes The Pain that was part of Brocks arsenal where he just lifts you from the back of your legs and drops you on your back. That is quite common in MMA. Sadly that's all I can think of. A Kimara is in Smackdown also. It's a little more pro wrestling then MMA but it is a legit hold. I don't know what it's called in Smackdown though. There are several sleepers that are MMA influenced as well. The Bloodbath Choke finisher is a MMA move too. Sadly Blood already uses that.

You may have to cop out a little for MMA looking moves as opposed to exact replicas of the holds.
