All right, I had this idea after we were removed from YouTube, but I quickly scrapped it. However, I'm thinking of bringing it back. So I'm asking you: If we did a "best of the YouTube Era" show, what would you like to see?
Here are some ideas I wanted to try out:
MATCH SELECTION:
Option 1: Having Rantboard members, either through a poll or through lists, select their top 10 favorite matches from Episode 1 through Digital Mayhem and then, based on popularity and enthusiasm, I'd throw the most-requested matches together.
Option 2: I would select the ten matches I felt most proud of from that time period and give you my definitive list.
MATCH ORDER:
Option 1: 8-10 matches, presented in chronological order from Episode 1 to Digital Mayhem. However, at least one match must be present from each episode, which could be hard since some events are of better quality than others.
Option 2: 10 matches, presented in a "countdown" format, from the tenth highest ranking match to the top match. This would work with both selection methods but will be much more intriguing, IMO, if Rantboard members selected them. Every event does NOT need to be represented in this case.
Option 3: A chronological "history" format, which showcases the "important matches" (big gimmick matches, main events, et cetera) and doesn't necessarily focus on match quality.
FORMAT (these ideas can be combined, in some respects):
Option 1: Cutting out commercial breaks in matches (much like the Reloaded Series in some respects) in order to preserve the feeling of a real show.
Option 2: Narrated vignettes before every match, much like PD2008 and the '06-'07 Fans Choice Awards results at Digital Mayhem, displaying a brief backstory to each contest.
Option 3: Vignettes displaying the long-term effects (creatively and existentially) of the matches in question.
What do you guys think? Should we attempt something like this? Or, because the "Reloaded" series is going on, should we forget about it entirely? Let's discuss.
