This is the first time I've heard e-wrestling or e-feds referred to as... "text based". Maybe I've been living under a rock the last twelve years but I'm glad I finally found this place to enlighten me about a whole new world. Wait until EWZine, eWMania, PTC, or some of the other places I'm affiliated with gets a load of you guys. P.S. The CAW community (and especially URWL) ROCKS!~

Thanks a lot, cooper. As a former fedhead (I wonder if that term's still used) myself, I like what the world of e-wrestling represents and, although I've been away from the text-based game (see, there I go again) since 2003, I still enjoy checking some of those leagues now and then to see how it's evolved. CAW simulation is not a new idea in e-wrestling or in e-feds, though. A few leagues here and there do it while still allowing roleplaying, which is a great way, actually, to keep viewers interested. Maybe it's just my opinion, but I prefer editing to the long matches and events I used to write out, despite taking a long time to produce events with a lack of free-time in my life. But I'll never forget how we started. The majority of characters we use in the current URWL were around in the text-based era. A few Rantboard members have also been around since that time (like Fusion and enterthegrave) and can now see their characters in a new way, so to speak. I've been living with these characters for a long time, and, along with the "new guys" I created exclusively on the game, I have a chance to really "flesh them out" in ways I couldn't really do back in the e-fed days of the URWL. The hardest thing, though, is really letting people find out about the history of the league. Only I, VinceNeil1981 and the original members that post here know what exactly went down in those days. Through a lot of the anecdotal stuff I talk about in commentary and the events I find on the Internet Archive that I posted on the Rantboard, guys who just know the league from its CAW days can see where we came from and what, exactly, we were like in the "olden, golden days" (questionable booking, lack of knowledge about the wrestling industry and all ). Thanks for the good word, cooper, and enjoy your stay! EDIT: Here are the old text-based events I mentioned in my post, just in case you wanted to see 'em: urwlrantboard.proboards107.com/index.cgi?board=specialevents
