Last week, Metallica released "The Day That Never Comes", a Black Album-sounding first single from their forthcoming "Death Magnetic" album. A few days later, they released "My Apocalypse", which channels the speed metal they used to champion (also from the same album).
Has anyone other than VinceNeil1981 and I heard these two songs yet? Got anything good or bad to say about them?
Well, for all the P2P-bashing, St. Anger-releasing and documentary-whining they've done over the past decade, these two songs have been, in the words of Buffalo Bills Tight End Robert Royal, "a fresh of breath air". And I agree. Except the intro to "The Day That Never Comes" sounds funny for Metallica. And James Hetfield's voice doesn't sound that young anymore. But Kirk's guitar solos are back. And Lars's drums don't sound like oil cans anymore. I just hope the album doesn't suck monkey testicles.

rubin dropped the bomb........i've been done with selloutica for a long time and was gifted with penis magnetic, so i'd figure i would give it a shot for free. hetfield still can't sing for a lick, he speaks. lars' drums sound worse, not that he's worth much to begin with. hammet's shred is absolutely laughable, and has to lay off the wah........ the one thing that keeps me in it whether you're a fan or a musician, is james still has some pretty wicked riffs. hetfield is absolutely tone deaf. the mix is god awful, i could write an essay on it.
overall, here's my REAL title for the album.
Justice:Relaoded
they tried to bring back a lot of AJFA elements such as some intricate work and failed IMMENSELY on the day that never comes (the day that should never have came) trying to bank off "One". and it has their god awful tone from the black album on, which is why i used the reload reference.
personally i give it a 6.5/10.
