I'll be sending my Xbox 360 in for replacement after it gave me the Red Rings of Death (six days before Madden, no less). But DON'T WORRY! Episode 8 has been captured in full and I will have the console back by the time PD2008 voting ends (if all goes well).
Once again, don't jump to conclusions about the future of the URWL because of Microsoft's shoddy hardware. It'll be back in no time.

Everyone I know (including VinceNeil1981) has had the RROD so I knew it would eventually happen to me. Like I said, it doesn't infringe on anything I have planned with the URWL, so there's no need to panic.

RROD Twice for me, friend had it three times and a friend of a friend has gone through six 360's. Royal pain in the ass just like Vista is . I hope that ps3 gets 64 layers for svr next year, cos if it does then my 360 will be reserved for the exclusive titles lol Still Microsoft...... YOU SUCK!!!

I just talked to one of my co-workers about this issue, who ended up replacing her son's 360 FOUR TIMES because of three separate RROD incidents. If that ever happens that many times to me, I may as well start investing in a PS3.
One thing I can't understand, though: WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A LAWSUIT AGAINST MICROSOFT BECAUSE OF THIS? Even though they're losing billions of dollars because of this issue, MS doesn't seem to give two shits about this issue. The new 60GB model 360 has the SAME HEATSINK as the current models do, and the 120GB Elite models aren't much better, judging by people's statements about the reliability of said consoles.

From the time you send your 360 in until you get it back is usually around 10 days. Had to send mine in twice.

I was thinking of doing the towel trick again tonight (I forgot to mention I've done it two times already). If that works, we'll be set for at least a couple more weeks but who knows. I'll probably resurrect it enough to play some Madden by Tuesday and then send it in afterward...

May I make a note to everyone that 'ash has had his 360 since launch, and this is his first time sending it in. With the amount of use his system got, it's amazing that he didn't have to send it in sooner.

Wondering when you were finally going to have to send it in. I just hope my Elite doesn't get it any time soon or it will be a PS3 for me.

I had mine for less than a year I think and mine bit the dust.

Well, I tried the towel trick again last night and the system is now alive and kicking...for now. I played NCAA Football for about 4-5 hours last night without any problems. Let's see how long it'll take to see the rings again. In that case, this thread is locked. For now.
