Here are the top stories surrounding the Eighth Episode of URWL Wrestling...
Will Taurus Make It To Popular Demand?
He's been "screwed". He's been slighted. He's nearly been suspended. Taurus isn't having the most pleasant time of his career after Digital Mayhem 2008 and the infamous "Kansas City Screwjob" masterminded by Victor Cordaro. After interfering in Trent Tail and Victor Cordaro's match in Episode 7 of URWL Wrestling against the will of the URWL Staff, Taurus now will be pitted against Cordaro and two of the URWL's most infamous men, Seth Stern and !nterogative, in Episode 8's main event. If Taurus survives these nearly insurmountable odds, he will advance to Popular Demand and face Victor Cordaro. If he loses, he will not only lose the opportunity to fight Cordaro at Popular Demand but also be ineligible to contend for the URWL HighFlyer Title for one year.
"Mini-Tournament" Winners Will Emerge
In Episode 8, URWL Tag Team Champions The Downfall Syndicate will finally learn about their potential opponents for Popular Demand. In the losers' bracket match, ScorpbrA collides with The Great White North, and E.O.E. face Merle & Hog in the finals of the winners' bracket for the #1 Contendership of the Tag Team Titles. However, the #1 Contenders aren't safe. If the fans have their way, the winners of the losers' bracket match will immediately be entered into one of the URWL's biggest matches: Tag Team Turmoil III.
Speaking of ScorpbrA...
Fans everywhere were perplexed after ScorpbrA, fresh from losing Episode 7's first match of the evening against Merle & Hog, stared each other down in the middle of the ring. Both Scorpion and CobrA have enjoyed success in the singles ranks in recent months, but their first tag team contest in over a year left a lot to be desired. The apparent tension between both brothers could mean only one thing: Could ScorpbrA split?
Will Blood and Akina Meet Again?
With an unexpected sneak attack on URWL Hardkore Champion Akina after Episode 7's contest between Akina and Downfall Syndicate member Adrien Carnage, Blood proved that he's once again hunting for URWL gold. Calling Akina "as hardcore as Cinemax" in a recent interview on the URWL Rantboard, the former North American Champion officially declared himself #1 Contender for the Hardkore Title. With Akina in action against Wes Tomerka of The Downfall Syndicate and with Blood not on the card, both rivals are anxiously awaiting another chance to meet up with one another before their match at Popular Demand 2008.
Tail and Commander Clash, With Kuleshov Waiting In The Wings
Aleksandar Kuleshov, fresh from winning the #1 Contendership for the URWL North American Championship in Episode 7, will have a chance to relax before meeting The Commander for the belt at Popular Demand. Commander, however, is in action against the surging Trent Tail, who drew Victor Cordaro after Taurus interfered in their contest in Episode 7. With Kuleshov meticulously studying every one of Commander's moves and tendencies in anticipation for Popular Demand, could Commander's future as champion be in jeopardy?
Fusion and Salvatore Meet One-on-One
After competing for the #1 Contendership of the URWL North American Championship in Episode 7, former Internet Champion Salvatore and the struggling Fusion will clash in a singles matchup. After tensions flared between the two during Episode 7's contest, it seems both European-born wrestlers have a great disdain for one-another. Could a match at Popular Demand be in store for "The Fuse" and "The Master of the Belly-to-Belly"?
Slash and Rincón: A Preview of Popular Demand?
URWL Womens' Champion "The Cyberpunk" Jesse Slash hasn't competed in a match since barely making it out of Digital Mayhem's 20 Minute Endurance Match. Cecilia Rincón, however, is quickly gaining momentum and becoming one of the URWL's most exciting rookies. By narrowly defeating Kelsey MacDonald in Episode 7, Cecilia may be seeing a #1 Contendership come her way at Popular Demand. But will she be able to gain ground on the seemingly unstoppable "Cyberpunk" in Episode 8?
