Do any of you think we should separate lightweight wrestlers from the rest of the roster in sort of a "HighFlyer Division"? According to the "official URWL rule book" (or just the HighFlyer Title Wikia Page), a wrestler in the URWL HighFlyer Division is only described as being "any wrestler that weighs under 230 pounds and has an arial-based, high-risk, lucha libre or modern "hybrid" wrestling style".
However, would it be more logical for me to make the HighFlyer Division much more of a division in the future?
For example, a wrestler in the "URWL HighFlyer Division" must:
-Weigh under 230 lbs. (duh)
-Have an arial-based, high-risk, lucha libre or modern "hybrid" wrestling style (double duh)
-Not wrestle an opponent outside of the URWL HighFlyer Division (except on special occasions)
-Only compete for the URWL HighFlyer Title
-Leave the division if he exceeds the weight limit
-Have at least two non-traditional aerial moves (moonsault, senton bomb, flying head scissors, over castle etc.)
Now, these restrictions may be harsh, but they may be necessary if I want to create a lot of competition over the HighFlyer Title. Sure, I can create buzz around the title without such restrictions, but I'm thinking if something like this happens, it'll make the belt more prestigious for those in the division.
Then again, I can see where this can backfire because of the wrestling styles I'm trying to emphasize in the URWL. For example, major title contenders like Seth Stern would automatically be URWL HighFlyers, even though he's in a major title race. Sure, I can easily fix this by choosing who makes up the HighFlyer Division, adding and removing wrestlers at my leisure (or just removing the "Championship" rule entirely)...but who knows. I'm just brainstorming out loud at this point.
Also, this will make the HighFlyer Division seem much more like an answer to my beloved TNA X Divsion. Sure, it may sound like an unoriginal concept to some, but I haven't heard of many CAW leagues that adopt it for their own benefit.
Anyhoo, do you think this could be an idea worth pursuing? Or should I just let the so-called HighFlyers be a normal, everyday part of the URWL roster?
