All you have to do is just name a few wrestlers you think recieve way too much credit for their true minscule abilities.
I have several but I'm going to one that I remember disputing for years. One man. Usually called The Man. His name is Bill Goldberg. I've been in numerous discussions about how Bill Goldberg is vastly overrated. Without his few devastating power moves he was a very limited promo and was a horrible seller. I will not bash him for being WCW's answer to Stone Cold Steve Austin or to having Austin's look. His in ring ability alone was not earth shattering. He was all offense.
What also bothers me is his ego as a result of his huge push to the top. It just added to me disliking him even more.

Edge IS NOT overated. Tomko has been in TNA but I believe he could be a big big draw if pushed right.
Mark Henry, Snitsky, Great Khali, Botchtista. Etc.

Kane. (now, he was awesome with the half mask) since loosing his mask and shirt he's been nothing much but an overpushed tall fat guy. and his strikes are incredibly weak looking

OK this one might be controversial SAMOA JOE *Flees* I agree with you 100%. Surely he is a great talent, but not the best. He's had great matches, but not the best. I was asked the other day if I could see one TNA star and one WWE star in a match, who would it be? I said AJ Styles, and Shawn Michaels, and what did I get in response? "WHY DIDN'T YOU PICK JOE?" I'm sick of him being seen as the greatest thing to happen to the business by idiots who think they know what they're talking about.

Joe was amazing in Ring of Honor, and if he made a career SOLELY based on his ROH matches, I'd disagree with you. Joe's showing signs of overratedness (if that's even a word) because TNA hasn't used him well, and it doesn't surprise me. The Wrestlecrap-worthy creative decisions that company's made over the past year should be enough evidence.

Remember the angle leading up to his match with Undertaker at WMXX? Brilliant. Ever since then? Bullshit. ;D

how he's booked has nothing too do with his ring work

You're right, but it makes his faults less noticeable to the viewing audience. I agree Kane has never been outstanding (especially recently with his frequent ENZUIGIRIS) but never underestimate what good booking can do to a mediocre wrestler.
