Ah, the most bastardized WWE pay-per-view of the year, the Great American Bash. The question is, this year, will the pay-per-view be anything to look forward to?
This year's Raw main event will prove if WWE has enough trust in Punk as the company's #1 wrestler or if he'll be embarrassed by the bigger-but-not-as-talented man we call Dave Batista less than one month after winning the World Heavyweight Championship.
I know WWE feels that Punk has Main Event talent, but is he over enough to be champion? I mean, for a moment, drown out what you've heard from the Internet Wrestling Community and put yourself into the shoes of the casual fan who doesn't know a work from a shoot. This is where things may get ugly, and fast. And when I talk about ugly, I'm talking about Punk's reign not lasting. Of course, there's still a long way until Bash and angles haven't even been discussed, let alone developed, so...what do you think'll happen in this case?

I like CM Punk, I think that WWE restrict him and others from the indy scene. I suppose almost killing what made them great in the first place. They should make him beat Botchista, I'd like to seem him carry the title for a respectable time at least. For me WWE has two world titles that are main event, the ECW title I think is probably just above the US and IC titles. Anybody who doesn't know a work from a shoot, surely can see that Punk is faster and has more technique than Batista. I mentioned that Batista botches a lot, I know Punk does too but the stuff Punk does contains more risky things. I'd love to see Batista tap to the vice, I hope that Punk still does it.
As for WWE pay-per-views, you may not know this I used to be a wrestling fan, but now I would say that it is losing me. ROH is probably the thing that keeps me interested in Real life wrestling. TNA for me has always had that WWE's cheap brother feel to me, and WWE just seem to push all the wrong people IMO, for Me Punk and Morrison are their future so they should use them wisely

Batista's going too win Punk was only given the title too bring it too raw, he just dosent have the WWE main eventer look he's too out of shape (at least guys like JBL and Show are big enough that you still wouldnt want too fight them) and going over batista would make no sense

You're right, Batista is going to win. But thats where you stop being right malaphesto. Punk is NOT out of shape. He just isnt your typical musclebound guy. Neither is Randy Orton. Neither is Edge. Neither is Rey Mysterio. Yet they've all had good title runs.
However, the reaction Punk is getting so far, may change the plans for WWE, they do it all the time. So...we'll see, maybe by the time the GAB comes around, he'll be over enough? I hope to at least see him stick around the title scene.

when i said he's out of shape I meant he dosent have a typical WWE wrestler look
Edge, Orton and Mysterio might not be muscle bound but they still have an athletic look, Punk looks like an average guy

These are the reasons why I think that CM Punk is going to best Batista at The Bash:
1. If they wanted Batista to be champion on RAW, they would have had him beat Edge at NOC and bring the Heavyweight Title back to RAW in that fashion.
2. Batista's had more then his fair share of time as a Champion. Punk on the other hand hasn't (If you count the ECW Title as a championship that is...)
3. RAW needs a DESPERATE change as far as it's top man. For years it's been either Cena, Orton or HHH. In fact, they've been the champions on RAW for the better part of the last 5 years respectively.
4. Punk as Heavyweight Champ is going to pull in SERIOUS ratings. All of the people who shunned and scoffed at WWE for not using it's REAL talent (myself included) are actually going to start tuning in to RAW. So are all the die hard wrestling fans (again, myself included) who have dreamed about having one of the Indy guys rise up the ranks of WWE.
Further more, Punk beating Batista...and he will...is going to hammer home the fact that for the foreseeable future, he's the guy WWE wants as the Top man on RAW. And they'll use all of the "established" talent to push that fact. But that's just my person opinion. Lord knows WWE often never goes the way anyone thinks they will.

And they'll use all of the "established" talent to push that fact. But that's just my person opinion. Lord knows WWE often never goes the way anyone thinks they will. I'm just going to go over your reasons and add my own logic. 1. Ok that may be right but then, they wouldn't have been able to insert the plot twist in the Edge/Vicke storyline. By letting Edge hold on to the title that one night the WWE were able to bring a 'close' to the Edge/Batista rivalry that has gone on and off for the past year. Then by letting Batista attack Edge on RAW and 'cost' him the WHC they set two things up A really good feud between CM Punk and Batista and were able to force Edge to show his 'true colors' when it came to his relationship with Vicke. 2. I agree with this point fully. No arguement WWE needs a new face, but now they've loaded RAW with pretty fair talent you have Mysterio who had a great run with the title before, Jericho who was the first Undiputed Champion then of course Cena, JBL, and Batista. 3. No offense but this does seem a little redundant anyway once again I AGREE entirely HHH, Orton and Cena have 'ruled' RAW for the last 5 or 6 years. However, I don't see WWE changing this trend those 3 superstars are the biggest the WWE have besides Undertaker, Shawn Micheals, and unfortunately JBL these 6 are the established leaders in the business right now so it is logical to put the strap on them but a change would be nice. 4. You say SERIOUS ratings look at the segment ratings on RAW the lowest rated one was CM Punk VS Snitsky if the WWE continues to book Punk with nobody lower-midcarders like Snitsky then his title reign will be VERY SHORT no one wants to see a supposed "main event" superstar wrestle undercard talent and I use that word loosely in Snitsky's case. Now my prediction CM Punk beats Batista at the Great American Bash but I see JBL interfering to set up a feud with Batista. Then, at Summerslam I see John Cena ,I don't like it either but it seems to be where the storyline is headed, defeating Punk for the title. Completing Cena's 'climb back to the top'. After that WHO THE HELL KNOWS!!!
