Four men remain in the hunt to become the NXT Champion. For Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Terry Atkins, and Vin Taylor, winning the NXT Championship will open the door for many future opportunities, but for different reasons. While their stories are varied and too complex to describe in one succinct description, the truth is this: Being NXT Champion is the most important thing in the world to these four talented, battle-tested competitors. Tonight on NXT, these four men will compete in a tag team match to give the NXT Universe a preview of the pandemonium that will surely come in the next two weeks, when we will find out which two men will go on to headline NXT Arrival in what will serve as a make-or-break main event that could ultimately define their careers.
Last time on NXT, the narcissistic Tyler Breeze claimed that the NXT Championship was only fit for his "gorgeous looks and unparalleled beauty." Breeze claimed it was now his mission to make the NXT Championship the most pristine Championship belt anyone has ever seen. Malik Brown immediately took exception to this, letting it be known that Tyler Breeze would not be handed the NXT Championship - he would have to earn it. The Loud Man laid down the challenge, but Prince Pretty turned him down, citing "important business in Aspen. Malik Brown personally requested to have a match tonight, and NXT Commissioner William Regal was happy to supply him with a competitor he had freshly signed off the market. A fighter for all his career, The Loud Man has to prove that he can do exactly what he said last week: swim with sharks and take on any challenger that comes in front of him. The easy question is this: Will Malik Brown sink or swim in the heat of the moment?
And finally, we will see the debut of NXT's newest tag team, The Bladerunners! While these men aren't exactly the duo who would go on to become two of the biggest legends in the history of professional wrestling, they are a dynamic duo that has enjoyed widespread success as one of the premier tag teams in the virtual wrestling circuit. Tonight will mark an important step in Gage Grayson & Tyler King's quest to become the greatest tag team in WEDF history. Will they show up and establish their presence as an imposing threat to the rest of the competitors in the hunt to be known as the top tag team in NXT? Or will their first impression be a dumpster fire akin to Johnny Manziel's rookie season as a Cleveland Brown?
