(This is a near repost from my latest post in the Episode 7 Spoilers Thread)
Episode 7 will be the first and last episode with the generic name "URWL Wrestling". For Episode 8, I'm thinking of going back to URWL RUSH, the name of the URWL's "flagship event" in the text-based era. However, that will mean I'll have to make a few tweaks to the namebars, logos and overall production, since that event's color scheme was red, black and yellow.
Overall, I'm feeling really good about this event and hope that it'll be up either this coming weekend or sometime next week. However, in case rendering goes awry like it did at Discontent and Digital Mayhem, I will be giving plenty of time before I post everything...and I plan to post every match this time in one night.
Another thing you all will be seeing is ACTUAL commercial breaks. This will give me a chance to edit out a lot of my big mistakes (yes, that's what I use commercial breaks for in the YouTube Era), put up some promos and get a chance to put some comedy in the shows. This will make the show behave much more like a real show and really differentiate the episodes from the supercards.
Also, I'm looking to split videos in PORTIONS (Part 1, 2, 3, etc.) instead of in-between matches, all because of the time and space advantages of FileFront over YouTube. The only thing I have to worry about, in this case, is putting the video file size under 1 GB. I'm a video purist of sorts and I'd like to deliver great video quality to you through FileFront, but I know I'll have to sacrifice time to do so. I need to find a perfect balance of good video quality and content to make it under one gigabyte. Also, I will not split videos in the middle of matches. I'll try to stay away from that. That's not to say there may be strategically-placed "YouTube Commercial Breaks" after matches or promos, but I'll try to keep those to a minimum.
This new format will allow us to accomplish a bit more in the way of promotional videos or angle-based content. The first few FileFront episodes (URWL Wrestling Episode 7 and the new RUSH Episode 8) will experiment with some of these ideas. As I said in the "Anything We Can Do Better?" thread, I will NOT be doing the run-of-the-mill SMF, ICCW or DWA promo (mindlessly taunting in a ring, text-to-speech, or text on a screen). Garycanrana from EFW (EFWwrestling on these boards) introduced me to a program he uses that actually makes wrestler promos a lot easier. I'm not quite sure if I'll start using it in Episode 7 or in Episode 8, but it has the potential to really be a powerful utility in the CAW world.
Again, Episode 7 will be the first and last show under the generic "URWL WRESTLING" name. Episode 8 will contain a new logo, new name, new theme and new production...it will be the resurrection of RUSH.
