The Director of Wrestling Operations for the Destiny Championship Alliance, Joshua Bishop, recently sat down for an interview, discussing many issues regarding the company heading into the final shows of the season. Here is some of what was discussed:
His thoughts on the growing Wildcats Division and the Wildcats show in general: “Personally, I’m glad that people are finally starting to see what the women of DCA can really do, but more is on the way. Currently, the Wildcats are going to have their own CPV called Sinful Intentions, where the finals of the number one contender’s tournament and the title match itself will both happen on the same night. I've also went ahead and signed Rachel Diaz to face Ciara Night and I have signed a special attraction match between Angel Sanchez and Akira Yukimura, which I'm sure will steal the entire show. I guarantee that on that night, the Wildcats will leave a lasting impression on the DCA fans.”
His thoughts on the current situation with Casey Gordon and Shazine Fria: “It shocked me much like everyone else when I saw Shazine come out on the last episode of Takedown, especially when she said that she was signed to be Casey’s manager going forward. We’ve spent the past few days looking over her contract and as much as I don’t want to admit it, she was right when she said that she was still hired to be a manager. And DWall was also right when the legal team went in and saw that she was already representing Casey before we fired her, so her job was technically saved and secured as long as Casey is in the company. But I’m not done looking into this. I know that there’s more to this that any of us realize. And as for Casey claiming that he’s the number one contender to the DCA World Title at Revelations: Last Rights, let’s see how he does with the “other” problem that he faces now before he jumps to conclusions. And after that little stunt he and Shazine pulled in that other organization as well recently, let's just say that the two of them may not have just me, DWall, and Calvin to worry about sooner rather than later.”
Plans for the Destiny and Tag Team Championships: “We have finalized Dante’s contract, and on the next Takedown, he will face the newest signee to DCA, TJ Kennedy. And at Clash at Demonhead, he will defend the DCA Destiny Championship against the winner of a number one contender’s battle royal that will happen early in the night. As for the Tag Titles, The Bladerunners have been impressive and have beaten every team in front of them. But now, they’ll have a bigger challenge ahead of them. At the CPV, there will be a Fatal-4-Way Match for the Tag Titles. Gage Grayson, representing The Bladerunners, Mike Sullivan representing 2Wicked, Tyler Parks, representing Golden Intensity (whether he wins his chamber qualifying match or not), and Lil’ Jazz, representing BLK_OUT 2.0. Simple concept: No Disqualifications, No Countouts, Elimination Rules. The last man standing wins the Tag Team Titles for their team.”
Plans for Clash at Demonhead and the DCA World Title: “John Blackrose really expected me to give him a one on one title match? Well I wasn’t going to. He hasn’t earned anything but a trip back down the ladder for all of the whining and complaining that he’s done for weeks now. And the same goes with Zach Stone. They both want to blame me and the other members of management for their problems when they don’t want to look in the mirror and blame themselves. Let’s face it: Stone lost on Episode 29 to Atlas Jones, and then Blackrose lost to Jones on the very next show! Then what does Blackrose do? He wants to threaten me with lawyers and attorneys. Well, I’ve already taken care of that, and even the best lawyers that money can buy can’t save him, because his contract is structured like everyone else’s: NO rematch clauses. He just has to deal with it. As for who will face Atlas Jones at the CPV, I am going to do a first for DCA. It’s called the Doomsday Chamber, where six men, including the champion, will be locked inside a steel prison where one man will walk out as DCA World Champion. And on the next two shows, we will have qualifying matches for the match. On Episode 34, Malik Brown will face Tyler King, Alexander Washington will face Takeru Yukimura, and Calvin Richardson will face Jacob Cross. And on Episode 35, since I’m such a fair guy, I’m gonna give the two crybabies a chance to EARN a title match. Zach Stone will face Tyler Parks and John Blackrose will face Evan O’Shea. That should solve everyone’s issues.”
Final Thoughts on DCA: “I think we have grown a lot as the season has gone on. I’m happy to see that more people are getting behind DCA and more people are partnering with us and helping us go a lot further. But me and DWall have a lot more planned for the future. The upcoming CCL crossover, the DZW and WTW crossovers next season, more shows, better production…it’s just a lot that we are working on to make DCA even better and even more exciting for all of the fans, and we hope that we deliver the best shows possible in the future.”
