A beautiful return for the URWL after a long waiting period and, in my opinion, just like Unrivalled Ambitions, it was well worth the wait. Despite the changes from being titled High Stakes to LIVE episode 1, the show went together quite smoothly seeing as none of the card was changed, but the graphical work, which like in URWL fashion, gave off the professional sport vibe. URWL Chairman Vince Neil introducing the fans to the program, announcing the name of the new URWL Federational Championship match between Kuleshov and White, and introducing the main event of the next supercard Dangerous Minds. Interrupted by the ever-so-controversial Seth Stern and the on-screen debut of URWL Head Lawyer and Seth Uncle, Jack Stern. Jack Stern honestly was the big factor in this segment, having a backstage authority stand-off with Vince Neil, recommending that his nephew gets another shot at Emo for the URWL Championship, replacing Fusion. This also showed character of Vince Neil, more-so as a legitimate business man and not a crowd-pondering General Manager, which is rarely found in the virtual wrestling scene. This sets off the character of Seth Stern and, quite honestly, for a long-time viewing fan, you see his point, which is often rare for Seth, making you want to think "maybe he was right all along". This lead to an authority stand off, making a backup proposition to Vince Neil to set up Fusion vs. Seth Stern for the #1 contenders spot against Jaime Emo, in which most GM characters would say "Fine, but if you lose, ________". However to the surprise of myself, Vince says no, denying a big match for the Roughness card in favour of just keeping Seth out of the URWL title picture. This leads to Jack encouraging Seth to hit the Star of David onto Vince Neil, injuring him from being able to participate in the long run of the night. Quite honestly, this was one of the most enjoyable segments I have seen from any virtual wrestling promotion. Not only did we get introduced to a powerfully played and interesting character in Jack Stern, but added fuel to the fire of either your hatred or love for Seth Stern. Not going to get too indepth into the matches, they were all rather fun to watch. I'll get into the final moments however, Come the end of the Federational Championship match we see an interference by, who else, but Shane B. Perkins, once again attacking his former partner Barry White. We also see an attempted assist at evening the score from Spectre, who has singled out Kuleshov since his return, only to be thwarted by the return of another controversial URWL wrestler and someone unadvertised for the event, Cory Jones, who's been in the eye of the storm with the whole RBN inner battle. This lead to Kuleshov winning the new championship and making an alliance with Corey Jones and his Legitimate Wrestling International(a fan made moniker... WHAT!?). This is where I have to question if Kuleshov was ever meant to be apart of this Legitimate Wrestling angle, or he is replacing KENZO in the storyline since VWA dropped off the affiliation. Either way, it was an addition to the angle, which in hindsight was obvious, as it would of made a great addition regardless, but the fact I didn't see it coming made me kick myself a little. All and all this show teased one question, and that one question sets the tone for URWL going forward, "What is going to happen next?" To steal a line from yourself, We shall see.

Damn, Brent, that is one HELL of an analysis. I read and enjoyed what you had to say. Yes, the times are indeed a-changing.
Kuleshov joining the Revolution was in the cards all along. I just didn't know the right time to bring him in, but after Dark Horizon I felt it was time.
Yes, he's proven he doesn't need help to win matches, but rest assured --- my plan is NOT to book him as a cowardly heel who overrelies on Jones. Just as someone who...well, legitimizes Cory's legitimate revolution.
Insider info: the match was originally booked with Spectre evening the score and taking Kuleshov out, then leaving --- Kuleshov would still find a way to win in spite of the match essentially resetting with the dual run-ins. He would become a member of Cory's fold a little while later.
As for the opening segment, it was my first crack at something like that. The mouths not moving has always been a pet peeve of mine (especially since I used to use CrazyTalk in the SVR2008 days). However, after seeing the AWESOME things SWF does with promos, I felt the story designer cutscenes still had a lot of potential. I give the SWF guys a lot of credit, those are not as simple to edit as they seem...so I took the lesser of two evils and decided to roll with it.
The recording sessions with VinceNeil1981 were a hell of a lot of fun. I could edit an Iron Sheik shoot promo together from the stuff he said in between takes.
However, a large amount of credit for that segment goes to our own Rodney Xavior, who accepted my suggestion to voice Stern like "a cross between Paul Heyman and Rodney Xavior" and instead came up with this amazing Bane-meets-Frank Underwood voice. The segment wouldn't have been as successful without his great work.
This show took a LOT out of me. A few of its graphical concepts were made 2-3 years ago with HighStakes branding. A lot of the matches were captured and left unedited for nearly a year. It wasn't until this summer that stuff started to get done...believe it or not, the vast majority of the work was done in the past 2-3 months.
With Roughness and the next LIVE, I'm going to think of different methods to make sure I'm not totally spent by the end of the show, as well as fewer matches and shorter cards overall. I know I say this all the time, but I have a really demanding job IRL and I'd rather have a way to keep my hobby up without having to sacrifice my professional or personal life for it.
The RBN guys, and that includes Rated, were ALL instrumental in pushing me to make progress, and that's exactly what I needed. I can't ask for a better group of people to do stuff with. Everyone's so creative, hard working and works long hours in real life. We all have a love for what we do but enough humility to keep our goals realistic.
Anyway, thanks to Brent for that detailed analysis and to ALL of you, and I don't mean that as a snooty PR type --- I mean that GENUINELY. It's because of YOUR support and encouragement that I found a way to finally get this done. Goodbye, SVR2011, hello WWE 13 and (hopefully down the road) 2K15!

The quality and beauty of the show was just amazing. The camera angles, the story telling, and so much other stuff rival if not out match real main stream wrestling companies. Who ever voiced Jack Stern, I swear he could easily replace Tom Hardy with that voice. Also I love the ranking system URWL has and the fact it plays such a factor in the show. It would be amazing for an actual company to use something like that. Brent had the better analysis, so I won't go on much more. All I have to say is great job Goldash. It is great to see URWL once again.

Before I get into a full detailed analysis, all my thoughts can be merged into one picture: I'll try to update this later.

I really enjoyed the show, I'll be honest the presentation always has me drooling and this time it was even more insane. Very well produced, some amazing camera transitions too, superb. I did mark out a little seeing the ticker with Wrestle Parade on it as I wasn't expecting stuff like that outside of the affiliates of the RBN so it was nice to see. I loved the matches too the stories progressing well and that talking segment at the beginning was really well done, my only wish was that the game would have had them moving their lips, but that is the game not your fault. It didn't ruin it just something that would have just made it perfect. I know my praise probably means very little as I always say it is well worth the wait, but it truly was for me. Looking forward to what comes next. Hopefully with my favourites !nterogative and Jesse Slash featuring.

Jamie Emo pulling a John Cena and not appearing on the lesser show at all. Scumbag. He was probably writing poetry and cutting his wrists while listening too fall out boy.
Also shocked to hear the Hamilton Fight Factory was notable enough to get referenced by somebody outside the 905 area. Can Barry retire now? I get why he's in URWL, but to me he's always felt out of place.
Cause he's black.

Hopefully with my favourites !nterogative and Jesse Slash featuring. It won't be long --- !ntero returns on Roughness! Good, good. After re-watching this with a friend I'd just like to throw out I wouldn't mind seeing Emo vs Spectre at some point or Spectre get a URWL title shot down the road whomever the champion may be at the time.

This show could have been the best show produced in a long time. Many things factored into this show ending up so phenomenal. And I'm going to list them! - On-screen GFX presentation
I've always been a fan of 3D graphics pop up on-screen. From the beginning, I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen. When the show opened showing the First Niagara Center, the graphic at the bottom was one of very little things that make the show's presentation better than others. Nameplates with different facts, the RR standings, replay screens, the RBN news ticker especially are all done so well. Even the transition into those graphics are smoothly presented. Don't get me wrong, these things have been done before but have never been done so good. The fact that SvR 11 was chosen to do this show was something very different. Imo, that actually made me want to stay tuned to watch the whole show. It was shown in the very first segment, camera angles/cuts and cutscenes were very important in keeping the viewers eye. Even changing the camera angle for 5 seconds and changing it back makes the show so realistic. I liked how the Create a Titantron feature was used during the show. I would have never brought it up if it hadn't been used, that makes the feel of the show so much better. You don't get to see a Dolph Ziggler titantron pop up when Rally Star comes out. Custom camera angles during the matches made it very suspenseful and eye-catching for the viewer too. Again it's been used before but it usually isn't used every minute or so and done to perfection. In almost every CAW show I watch, the matches either are watchable or very boring. With the camera angles like noted above, a great opening match, and commentary to give it a boost, I was able to stay tuned in. I can say I missed some stuff in the middle of matches because of how boring a match can get but it didn't happen often like most times I'm watching CAW content. I know in the league I wrestle in, SAW, the head booker doesn't want us to cut promos 'cause a majority of the roster would bore the viewer half to death on the microphone. "No one" who cut a promo on this show, especially the voices of Goldash, Jack, and Seth Stern. I love when a person takes his/her time to put forth a great acting performance to deliver a top-notch promo. (Just because I can, I wanted to say I enjoyed some characters on the show. Rally Star, Spectre, Hija Suicida, and Cory Jones all very entertaining to me.) All in all, the people involved with this show made it into an hour and fourty-five minute gold. If anyone ever thinks about making or continuing their CAW show, this is an example of what you may want to do to make it 1000x better than the rest of the product you've seen in the past.
