The State of the Rantboard Network: September 1st, 2014

Based on what's been happening around the RBN as of late, I felt it was time to let you, our community members, know exactly where we stand as a group.

The departure of Rated and VWA from the Rantboard Network was certainly shocking, saddening and abrupt to many in our community, but we feel as if it is time to move onward.

While we are sad to lose an Affiliate, we currently have no plans to add another. The RBN will continue on with four affiliates for the foreseeable future and will not bring on a "replacement" out of respect for Rated and all he has done to grow this community.

The delay of URWL LIVE into September was not influenced by Rated's departure, but rather my increasingly expansive work schedule. I thank you for the positive encouragement and kind words in reaction to this unfortunate circumstance. Rest assured that the show will see the light of day sometime this month if all goes according to plan.

Through these changing times, the four league owners and associated staff members will continue to plan toward the future and aim to continue on with our scheduled events. RPW Ground Zero and SWF ReVenge! 20 are currently in production as we speak and aim to be huge shows in their own right.

In addition, RANTCAST #4 and RBN Community Countdown #3 will be posted within the timeframe of each event listed above. Community Countdown #4 voting will follow suit as we aim to count down the five best RBN Community Matches of 2013-14. We also plan to unveil a new forum design and functionality in the near future so that your experience on these boards is the best it can be.

Of course, we have many plans we can't quite mention just yet --- so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.

We wouldn't be here without all the great support we've received from all of you over the past year. Rest assured that the Rantboard Network will continue to move forward and encompass all that is great about this medium. Whether you prefer CAW, Virtual Wrestling, sim, iWrestling, competitive, collaborative, online or offline, we will do what we can to continue to bring it all together under the mutual respect we've championed since RBN began.

On behalf of everyone in RBN, thank you for being the best community out there...and for realizing the best is yet to come.

The important thing is we (as a unit) are just as strong as ever. Losing the VWA is certainly a blow to us but our plans (both as a group and individually) will continue. It's important to remember that the RBN is more than CAW wrestling, it's a community. We generally believe in this community. This message board is full of good people, with common interests and honestly, that is the best part about the RBN.

So thanks for your understanding and patience. It will not go unnoticed.

Rodney hit the nail on the head, right now we are as strong as ever. Losing Rated was a very tough blow, especially for me considering the WWR and the VWA started out as partners pretty much way back in 2008. However, Rated would want us to move on and we will. We really do want to thank you guys and the rest of the community for all the support you give all of us. Trust me if I had the resources and the ability to produce shows for you guys 24/7 I would unfortunately right now that is not an option for me. However, WWR Octane will come out at some point in the future. In addition I'm also working on a side project that will hopefully benefit the CAW community as a whole...

The way I see it, a RBN Affiliation is not a vacancy that can just be taken when/if someone leaves, it is an earned spot through dedication, creativity, similar morals, but uniquely executed and, not to speak for the RBN Affiliates, but that is how it should be.

Rated was cool guy and definitely deserved his RBN Affiliation. He's helped me personally, giving tips and advice when I was new to graphic design (still green but definitely less green), Morphing's for CAW's (Most notably Miles Martinez) and generally had cool conversations about CAW Wrestling/Wrestling in general. I played sim with him whenever I could be arsed getting on '13 and play, and, this is extremely rare, I gave him a few months of Xbox Live.

He played his part in the community. Hopefully no storylines are effected by him having to leave, but as a community, we have to keep moving forward. Who knows, he may be back and more enthusiastic than ever!

In the mean time, as a community member, I am interested to see where the Affiliates go from here!
