Orchard Park, New York: No one said being a Champion had to be easy. Minutes after Jaime Emo fulfilled his destiny by winning the URWL Championship and ending !nterogative's year-long reign, he found himself on the mat in a pool of his own blood, a victim of the returning Seth Stern. Instead of celebrating his victory, Emo's night was cut short by the Rookie of the Year. After two failed attempts at the title at Digital Mayhem 2003 and at Discontent 2007, Emo now is living his dream. But the euphoria is long gone.
"I didn't celebrate that night," Emo gruffly comments, the Platinum Belt around his right shoulder, "I didn't go out with my family, my friends, my fellow wrestlers, I did nothing like that. It wasn't like Chris Benoit winning at Wrestlemania XX, Goldash. I had no confetti, no fireworks, no fanfare. My girlfriend and my parents didn't come out of the crowd to congratulate me. Instead, I found myself face down on the mat once again. Before Seth came back, I thought to myself, 'This is the best feeling in the world, I can finally relax'. And as soon as that burden lifted off my shoulders, his music hit."
As expected, Emo's feelings toward Stern weren't warm, fuzzy ones after Mayhem left the air.
"He thinks he's something special in the world of CAW after his tenure in DWA finished, so it comes as no surprise to me that he thinks that he can walk back into the URWL and easily take me out. Seth has always counted me out. He thinks I'm an "easy win", even after I showed everyone at Asphyxiation exactly where that kind of thinking gets you. He thinks I'm a one-match fluke. I don't mind that anymore, considering that happened back in June of last year and our careers have changed so much since then. I fought adversity and became URWL Champion. He's returning from DWA with his tail between his legs, although he doesn't want to admit that."
Jaime doesn't rule out the possiblity of a Popular Demand main event rematch, but he wants Stern to know that he shouldn't expect a cakewalk.
"Seth, you had the fans in the palm of your hand and you pissed it all away by showing how much of a coward you were. The URWL wasn't responsible for your loss at Asphyxiation and The Commander's offensive turn, so why do you keep on blaming it? Blame yourself for your loss at Asphyxiation, Seth, because you didn't have the heart. Blame The Commander for the incident at Discontent, because it was his own doing and not the URWL's. The world isn't fighting against you, Seth. You're using the world as a scapegoat for your own confusion. At Popular Demand, if you want a match, you've got one. But don't forget, the fans have the final say on a stipulation. Don't be surprised if a ladder match rears it ugly head once again..."
