Short Biography
Richard Kahn is one of the most respected referees in virtual wrestling today. Known as an earnest, hardworking official that rarely makes errors in judgment, Kahn has proven not only to be a leader in officiating but among URWL wrestlers, who look forward to Kahn calling their matches. It's rare for a referee to emerge as a locker room leader, but Kahn certainly fits that mold.
Kahn joined the URWL in 2001 and was willing to train as a wrestler to stay in prime physical shape. The Commander, in his USWF Development Territory, gave Kahn his first big break, becoming the head official for the territory while working as a minor referee in the URWL. When the USWF closed in 2002, Kahn worked full time in the URWL and UNW and quickly became a "wrestler's referee" if ever there was one.
With the exception of only a few controversies (the Kansas City Screwjob and Seth Stern's early matches, for example), Kahn has proven himself to be one of the top at his profession. However, in 2014, he looks to take on a leadership role as not only a Senior URWL Official but Head of URWL Officiating, a role he took over in the Text Era after his predecessor, Aaron Tolmsa, was fired.
Not only is Tolmsa returning, but Kahn is taking three rookie referees under his wing. As a new opportunity lies ahead for Kahn, will he continue to maintain his nearly spotless reputation as a URWL official? Stay tuned later on in Season 3.
