OFFICIAL RBN FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS THREAD (UPDATED 5/1/14)
Q: Can I join RBN, get my league's logo on the banners and become a "network affiliate"?
You join RBN as a forum poster (or a CAW Community member if you're a league owner) when you sign up for these forums. However, as Goldash said in his introduction, there's a difference between joining RBN and becoming a Network Affiliate. Network affiliation will NOT be done by a sign-up process. If the RBN decides to expand, all five network affiliates will choose to add leagues who are active on the forums and share our idealism. That means no political scheming, no grudges and all-around professional maturity. You will not be considered otherwise, so it's best not to PM any of our affiliates on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook asking to join, even if you are an existing Rantboarder. They will only refer you to this thread. If you are considered for network affiliation, you will be notified via PM by one of our admins.
Q: Is the Rantboard Network anything more than just an affiliation or "official endorsement" between a few leagues?
Our goal is to make RBN MUCH MORE than a simple affiliation. Our YouTube channel will not only become a hub for our network affiliates and forum community but the medium of virtual (CAW) wrestling itself. In short, it will become the first "CAW Sports Network". All of this will come with time, especially as we begin to put ideas in motion. It may seem fairly unclear in these early days, but the five shows that make up the "official RBN network" will not only get the lion's share of the promotion on the RBN YouTube channels and on social networks, but have exclusive content (including matches) aired on the YouTube channel. This includes content made by all five members that not only relates to their leagues, but to CAW, wrestling and wrestling video games itself. Programming ideas are continually being discussed among our admins and will progress into actual programming as time goes on.
Q: If you plan to promote events from Rantboard CAW Community members, how is this any different than adding them to the list of "network affiliates"?
As Goldash said before, the RBN is here to promote the five affiliate leagues, though we will NOT ignore the many leagues who post in the CAW Community forum. Promoting their shows is a good way to draw more attention to the many up-and-coming and established leagues that produce events there. As already stated, their shows will be promoted on our Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages. In the case of the latter, we plan to produce a quick "CAW Community Report" that allows us to promote some of the newer shows from around that forum in a fast-paced clip show format. Again, the five affiliates will see the most coverage, but the leagues that post on the CAW Community will also get their fair share of promotion since they are an integral part of RBN as well.
Q: I want to join an RBN Network Affiliate league. How can I do that?
We are sorry, but none of the five RBN Network Affiliates accept members at this time. However, we just set up a new forum designed for you to promote your CAWs and get signed by other leagues, whether it's offline, in competitive online play, in a simulation league or just for casual matchmaking. It's called the Rantboard Talent Network forum, and you can access this forum by clicking here.
Q: I have an idea to make things better around here but am not a Network Affiliate. How can I voice my opinion?
We have a new RBN Suggestion Box forum, located here: rantboardnetwork.proboards.com/board/41/rbn-suggestion-box. Feel free to post any issue, idea or suggestion you may have and we'll take it into strong consideration. Again, RBN is a community, not a place for glorified circle jerking among our five network affiliates. If you think something needs to be brought to our attention, don't hesitate. Leave a public post in the suggestion box or approach us via PM.
Q: How do I vote in RBN polls (e.g. Community Countdown)?
You must register for the RBN forum in order to vote in any poll.
Q: What kind of interpromotional ideas will the RBN Network Affiliates pursue?
Specific information will not be public until we truly get the ball rolling, but we plan to hold interpromotional cards featuring matches consisting of --- and between --- the URWL, SWF, WWR, RPW and VWA. We will also look into featuring matches between RBN CAW Community leagues down the road as well, should the idea gain enough steam. All of this is tentative, but be on the look out for impromptu cameos, interpromotional matches and events.
Q: I am a guest and can not post in the majority of the RBN's forums, or vote in any polls. Am I doing something wrong?
You must register to create or reply to threads, apart from the "Random Discussion" forum. This is predominantly done to cut down on spam and malicious posts from unregistered users.
Q: The latest wrestling pay-per-view or sports game is streaming "for free" online. Can I post the link on the forums or Rantbox?
You can not. This is against Proboards's Terms of Service, and because of that, it's a bannable offense here at RBN. Legal streams, such as those of CAW events, are fair game, but links to any WWE/TNA/NJPW/other pay-per-view or televised sporting event streamed illegally will immediately be removed by our admin team. Depending on your standing as a member, you will either receive a warning, suspension, or outright ban for this, so don't let it happen.
Q: Are CAW Community members free to use the RBN logo in their arenas or on their ring?
While we appreciate the free promotion, we prefer the RBN logo for Network Affiliate use only. In the coming months, the RBN will be doing more inter-promotional work and we do not want to have other members of the community using the logo to avoid any confusion. However, if you do want your league to be associated with our community, we will be making an "RBN CAW Community Member" signature video to place in your events. Otherwise, we would be happy to help promote your league on our RBN Twitter and Facebook accounts, as well as our Rantcast and Community Countdown shows (should your league win the vote).
IF YOU HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO REPLY BELOW AND THEY WILL BE POSTED IN THIS THREAD AS IT IS UPDATED.
