WWE posted a poll on their website today, asking "Who would win in a match between CM Punk and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin?" They followed this up with a few Facebook statuses about the probability of such a contest, which leads me to ask: Is WWE testing the waters and possible fan reaction to a match between the two at Wrestlemania 29?
We've heard a lot about Austin coming back for a final WWE match over the past few years, and this speculation about a match with Punk just may be what the doctor ordered for both men. It has the potential to sell tickets and garner a lot of publicity, just as the Rock/Cena match did this past April. With WWE promoting the Attitude Era in WWE '13 and Punk recently calling out Stone Cold on Raw, I think the proverbial seeds are on their way to being sewed. Thoughts?
