Jaime Emo is the current holder of the most prestigious championship in the URWL, the "Platinum Belt". His road to success had many bumps, always being looked at as the underdog, especially during his bouts against the once undefeated URWL Champion, !nterogative. Emo's return match in the first episode of the YouTube era sparked a rivalry between these two men which lasted beyond Emo's win over Stern for the Internet Title at Asphyxiation 2007. He evolved into a strong, legitimate main-eventer.
Fusion. One of the most shocking comebacks in recent URWL history. Even if he went through a different yet similar path, I see a lot of Jaime Emo in him. A more defiant attitude, the way he was carried as an underdog throughout Unrivaled Ambition, the new "Fusion Focus"... Fuse is no longer a card filler. Is he a Jaime Emo wannabe? I'll let you guys answer that for me... Nonetheless, Fusion is a top contender as it stands.
Now Seth Stern... in my opinion he should step his game up and make some sort of impact and regain his headliner status by all means necessary. His clean-shaven look and willingness to eavesdrop on other wrestlers during his embarrassing night at Unrivaled Ambition only made him look like a phony. His psychiatric evaluation, scruffy appearance and impressive Thanksgiving Throwdown victory over !nterogative put him on the map once again.
Akina seems like another potential contender for the URWL Championship of the World. He went from undefeated Rookie to Wrestler of the Year, completely tearing apart the Hardkore division, eventually being awarded a podium position at the RoughnessRankings. Despite Akina's injury, he's still the most likely wrestler to take the "Platinum Belt" off Jaime Emo's waist. Someone I see following in Akina's footsteps is the "Most Dangerous Man in Wrestling", KUZIMU. He indeed is dangerous, but he won't be taken as a serious contender until he starts doing business by himself, regardless of his card position. And yes, I'm speaking of Imara Nyoka.
Breakout Star? Rally Star. Don't let his flamboyance blind you. He'll build his way up to the top - on his debut match at Road to URWL Rebirth Star defeated Jonas Jobberson with an unexpected roll-up pin. At the premiere episode of HighStakes, he'll take on The Commander, whose strength and technique will stand in Rally Star's way. Regardless of the outcome, I honestly think Star will reach the top of the mountain in future seasons of the URWL.
