I'll admit --- I haven't watched much WWE of any sort after the 1000th Raw episode. Unfortunately, I watched the Jerry Lawler incident live because I happened to be home that night, turned on Raw and was shocked as much as everyone else was.
I don't like the way the WWE Championship picture is going although I think Punk and Heyman are a match made in heaven. Part of me thinks he's going to be champion heading into a match with Rock at Royal Rumble and possibly into Wrestlemania. On the other hand, hardly anything interests me about their program right now and I'm often more confused. The social networking emphasis also turns me off what should be a wrestling show, but I guess that's why they're an entertainment company above all these days.
TNA and ROH seem to be doing all they can to bring up the rear in pro wrestling's dull creative wasteland, but I'm not convinced any can really make me take notice. I've honestly watched a lot of older WWE, Dragon Gate and Japanese promotions. Just kinda strange because Wrestlemania was one of the best shows this year (Bryan/Sheamus excluded) and the rest of the year has been such crap in comparison.
I mean, Cena vs. Johnny at Over The Limit was one of the worst main events in wrestling history. Giving Cena the Raw Money in the Bank was a bad move and having him lose it just as quickly was equally baffling. Dolph is even less over with the SmackDown briefcase than Bryan was last year. Seriously, why even bother?
I'll say it again --- I don't know if I'm just getting older or just more disinterested in wrestling, but hell if WWE just confuses the hell out of me these days.

Not sure if it was because I was a Johnny mark at the time but I honestly felt sorry for the guy during the match haha. Still thought it was funny --- especially Johnny's ABSOLUTELY MINDBLOWING Booker T impression --- but I honestly think comedy matches should be reserved for the undercard.

There's a huge difference. Cole's supposed to be an asshole with a big mouth. Cena's the face of this whole be a star thing. Hell, he's got the Be a star logo on his t-shirts. And yet they played up his beating up and humiliating a smaller, weaker person as a good thing.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying. Just referencing the other recent "bullying" they've done on the program in addition to the Cena/Johnny thing. I agree it's hypocritical and stupid but the WWE has always been about this disconnect between its 'message' and its on-air product. Almost reminds me of the "Stand Up for WWE" campaign they had when Linda made her first attempt to run for office in Connecticut.
Besides, I don't think the "JR Hazing" from last year was anything worthy of Meltzer's disdain in the Observer anyway. Was it a Wrestlecrap-worthy angle? Sure. But it's nothing worth getting offended over, either. Cena's match with Johnny and even Cole from Raw a few months later are much better examples (which you already pointed out).

I don't know what it is, I just can't stand to watch WWE anymore... and now, since they jumped to 3 hours, I don't have to feel bad about it anymore.
