DALLAS, TX: With a look of conniving arrogance, Cory Jones appeared to force the upper hand in the aftermath of CAW[n]spiracy. His claims of being the heir apparent of "legitimate wrestling" became clear in the form of a controversial sneak attack on URWL Hardkore Champion Akina and a victory over his older brother Scorpion. After a two match losing streak, his longest in the CAW era, Cory emerged from the CAW[n]spiracy entranceway more surehanded and cunning than he was at Unrivaled Ambition. In spite of another hard-fought losing effort by Scorpion, it was Cory Jones who battled the hardest, countering a Scorpion irish whip with a neckbreaker to set up what he now calls the "Legit 450".
With two of the most notable purveyors of URWL hardcore wrestling temporarily defeated, Jones's one-man "legitimate revolution" is no longer a laughing matter. The controversial ex-CobrA now looks to set his sights on what he felt his "HighFlyer Champion" label kept him from doing: attaining a major championship.
"People tell me I'm delusional because they don't understand what I've accomplished in just a very short time here in the URWL," Jones commented. "The obese neanderthals that sit in that audience say I haven't done anything to prove myself. Have they even watched my career unfold? Did they see what I did at CAW[n]spiracy? At Unrivaled Ambition? At Popular Demand? I am easily...EASILY...the greatest LEGITIMATE WRESTLING talent in the game today. Those modern-day marks who claim I am 'underrated' simply don't see the point."
When asked what the point exactly was, Jones laughed. "I've been the single best talent in this league for years, but I've been held back by the shadow of my brother's so-called accomplishments. Now that he's finally taken a back seat to the legitimate wrestling entity that is Cory Jones, someone FAR too professional and prolific to be considered his 'younger brother', the wrestling world has now seen the error of his untalented garbage-wrestling ways. It's only a matter of time before his style of wrestling, his gap-toothed fans, his weaponry and...of course, how could I forget? ... his big ol' B.F.F., Akina, fades into the abyss like dust in the wind."
Cory's claims of being the first man to ever 'defeat' Akina have caused ire from the professional wrestling community ever since the words left his lips. Ever determined, Jones believes his lofty claims wholeheartedly. "There's no question. I am the first man ever to defeat the Obese Hawaiian. As far as I'm concerned, those win-loss records and rankings are fabricated by the URWL because the organization itself is in denial of my accomplishments and is willing to spite me for something I believe in. Akina's going to be crying in his hospital bed, yearning for a hell much more merciful than the one I put him in. His career is over, and his reign as Hardkore Champion is now in serious jeopardy of being ended prematurely. Frankly, I'm waiting for the news of his retirement any day now. I'm sure THAT should depress his homely fan-girls to suicide."
So with hardcore wrestling temporarily stunned but not yet "murdered" as intended, what plans does Cory have on the horizon? "Simply put, I plan to have the legitimate wrestling match of the early 21st Century at Discontent '12. Any opponent that happens to face me that night better be prepared to be systematically and technically outmatched...move for move, hold for hold, minute per minute, I will stake my claim as the individual who will set wrestling right. And as I know you've already seen, I don't just preach 'Legitimate Wrestling'...I AM LEGITIMATE WRESTLING."
Legitimate or not, the former HighFlyer Champion will not be booked at HighStakes.
