Alright guys, who do you all think is behind the "It Begins" promo from Monday night? Personally I see VERY strong cases for either Jericho or Taker.
The cryptic messaging screams Jericho, and so does his recently renewed interest in wrestling itself. He has been doing a LOT of wrestling related interviews lately something he has not been doing so often since he left. Also the wording from the promo about the familiar power returning to take back what is rightfully his just screams Punk VS Jericho at Mania for me.
However, the overall tone and mood of the promo just seems so Takeresque to me. The eerie music, and the weird video...all just looks like something for Taker. At the same time there is one VERY compelling piece of evidence for these signaling the return of the Deadman. The video appeared on 11-21-11....which just happened to be the 21 year anniversary of Taker's debut at Survivor Series.
So who do you guys think is behind the promo, and please list some reasons, especially if you go for other. Batista is listed by name because the passage of scripture read during the promo refers to the "Leviathan" which of course was Batista's name is in OVW.
Oh and here is the video for those who have not seen it.

I remember the previous Jericho promos had Big Show in it too, so I suspect WWE might have thrown in a few red herrings for us to mull over. Undertaker appeared with a shaved head recently (maybe 2 months ago) which makes me think it might not be him given his hair wouldn't have grown back so quick, but then again that isn't necessarily a reason he wouldn't return. Also to me the end of the world as you know it could reference Jericho with his "Best in the world at what I do" line, feud with CM Punk maybe that could work.
Looking at it I think it is Undertaker most likely.

Chris Jericho. At least that's what the evidence in the video points me towards.

I think Taker is a major possibility here, knowing his history at Wrestlemania and the "Ain't No Grave" promos from last year...but I have a strange feeling Batista may also be returning due to the Leviathan hint. Y2J is also a strong possibility as well, given the quotes. Then again, it could also be Vader or Lesnar or even Se7en for all I care. We shall see.
Y2J and Taker have both had their fair share of cryptic promos a long time ago, so doing another for either barely makes sense here...unless, of course, we're talking about a short-term rendition of the fabled Seven Year Rule.

I guess we all saw how this turned out...thoughts? Was Jericho's return an epic example of "trolling" on a national scale or was it the most confusing and odd thing in Raw history?
I personally thought it was great, and the sky's the limit for Y2J...unless WWE screws it up to holy hell. Punk/Y2J for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania may just be the "Steamboat/Savage" to Rock and Cena's "Hogan/Andre".

I have a bad feeling we wont be seeing Y2J cut promos. I think this is a new gimmick for him. This whole "silence" thing. Just my prediction. As always, time will tell!

I hope so, but I think it wont be until after he wins the rumble.

Sadly, I think that's the way it's going to be as well. He's going to build an annoyance with the fans by doing absolutely nothing until he wins the Rumble --- hopefully cheaply if he's indeed going to be heel and feud with Punk over the strap as the videos oh-so-blatantly hinted.
January is always one of the most exciting months of the WWE calendar year, as the Rumble occurs and the so-called "road to Wrestlemania" begins...I have a feeling we'll be seeing many more surprises in the next few weeks. Hopefully.

I agree with what you said Goldash. Jericho is one of the best ever on the mic (according to most of us fans). What better way to be a heel than to not give the fans what they want? It seems like Punk vs. Jericho is going to be happening. Personally, Im really excited for it. Theyre both solid on the mic and in the ring. It has a lot of potential. Lets hope WWE does this the right way!

Watching his return I expected the happy return with the twist at the end, WWE did surprise me in that Jericho didn't cut a heel promo that night. I guess that is a good thing though, I do hope that his run as a heel this time is different to the slow talking heel he was before.
