Another one of my threads created to generate some discussion, I guess. Oh, well. Need to stir the pot, so to speak.
Is there any one quote or line that stands out for you throughout the lifetime of the show? On the other hand, is there anything I or Vince said that you found absolutely horrible?
My all-time favorite quote isn't one I came up with. It comes from the mind of Mr. VinceNeil1981, and you've heard me mention it many times on this forum. It's from Episode 1, after Barry White rolls his ankle after a botched dive:
"Barry White was NEVER a man of the top rope." For whatever reason, this cracks me up everytime. It was even hard to keep a straight face during commentary, if I recall correctly.
On the other hand, two matches that stick out to me as my worst have to be Akina vs. Busiwa Tanao in Episode 3 and Emo vs. Stern from Asphyxiation 2007. Yes, even what I believe as the "turning point" of my enthusiasm over this entire league was something marred by a bit too much overselling, voice cracking and screaming. Although I have to say that some of it was actually genuine despite my prior knowledge of the finish. I sometimes cringe whenever I listen to earlier shows...the move names I occasionally screw up and the phrases I tend to repeat ("look at this!", "believe me", "(wrestler name) now", etc.) also make me a bit wary, but I try to improve my commentary every chance I can.
So, what do you think? Anything stick out to you?
