my impression is that if there are no legends i will fly to osaka, jump Yukinori Taniguchi and as he's laying in a pool of his own blood i will slowly whisper, "What the fuck man, what the fuck? You fucked us, and now I'm going to fuck you...NO HOMO!"

With the inclusion of the Legends of Wrestlemania game, you could transport superstars/legends between both that game, and SVR09, assuming you have a next gen system. As for SVR'09, Tazz looks to be the only 'real' legend in the game, excluding Vince.

[Editor's Note: THQ announced today that it's going to patch SVR 09 so that once you take one CAS through Career, you can give new created Superstars attributes without having to take them through careers. However, that patch doesn't have an ETA other than sometime before Jan. 31, 2009. That's a ways off, so my complaint about having to take every created character through the mode stands. However, if you're reading this in the future, you should know that things have changed.]

Unfortunately that won't help me as I don't have Xbox Live right now But for people who have the game already you may have noticed a cheat code menu here's a link to some unlockable superstars. www.wwe.com/inside/news/sdvsraw09/unlockables/

Here's some quick impressions since I don't have much time to post this morning:
CAF: Good for a first installment but not as in-depth as Vince or I would've liked. I can see people accusing others of "finisher theft" down the road, and that's NOT a good thing. But I think Yukes brought it on themselves by giving limited options. It's also MUCH easier to make an exaggerated, unrealistic finisher than a realistic one. But I like the feature overall and hope to see an improvement next year. It isn't the "best feature ever" by far.
CAW: Almost the same as last year but a tad different in the morphing features, so for those who want to translate CAWs from 08, be prepared to wriggle around with sliders and "eyeball" what your 08 CAW looks like in order to get the most accurate 09 translation. I haven't seen everything yet in the appearance, entrance and moveset editors but they're pretty much unchanged from 08 with the exception of a few new CAW parts, animations and moves. The moveset features are more flexible now and resemble 07 more than 08 (no more superstar styles). The best thing in CAW, though, is that CAWS look more realistic than ever, textures, attire and everything.
-No "advanced creation" for tag team entrances, either that or it's hidden. Only a rumor, folks...
-I can't wait to try the Highlight Reel's instant replay feature out in the context of an actual event, because it looks like it can make CAW leagues and promos more unique than ever before. CAN NOT WAIT.
More impressions are on the way but not at the moment. It's looking like a marginal improvement over 08, but not a drastic one (as expected). Yukes's policy of "one step forward, two steps back" is still here in full effect, folks, but several of the new features actually make some parts of the game better from a CAW League Perspective despite the removal of create-a-belt.

Indeed it should maybe make an in-ring promo possible, not saying you should because I could see it would be a lot of work. On CAF I think it only dissappoints because we maybe expected so much from it, I think it seems a little rushed but overall I got some great finishers out of it so I thing overall its a success. The face morphing is a little different and the PS2 caw mode runs more smoothly than 360's. I need to try a straight ps2 to 360 without changing the figures as I think CAWs will be a lot closer than last years games.
Also for layers
PS2 & PS3 are 32 PS3 a friend told me that
360 is 64
Sorry if its been covered but crotch blur is the same in all consoles.
I heard a rumor that 09 is the last game with the blurs, I hope that it's true ;D

As for SVR'09, Tazz looks to be the only 'real' legend in the game, excluding Vince. Is that true? Because I thought the Legends Of Wrestlemania models looked exagerated like LOW games were. If they are like the SVR models then I'd probably buy it.

I thought you could import wrestlers into Legends of Wrestlemania, so says the back of the SVR09 instruction manual (in the states at least).
Also, a minor annoyance is the new switch to the metric system in the menus (weight in kilograms, height in centimeters). I guess I'll be doing some conversions down the road since I'm not used to the metric system. ;D

so far i've noticed 3 things , they have the new stage set but they still enter from the left, and i thought i heard the guy in the interview say that there would be no loading between entrances. i wanna say it was working but when i use caw wrestlers it goes to now loading , then on to the next entrance , i think it may only work for wwe superstars, and 3rd that damn glass shatter ir fricking annoying after a while , they also said that there would be a on and off switch for the shatter effect i have yet to find it. -Goreala909

The career I've been having with the 09 version of Stern is a blast so far. I can usually beat the AI in about 2-3 minutes average on the out-of-the-box difficulty level so it's been going pretty fast. But the career mode is a big step back. The comments that it's getting about being similar to Shut Your Mouth are unwarranted and, quite simply, farcical. If anything, it compares to Wrestlemania 2000, where you could literally win every title in the WWE in one sitting (just like Vince's CAW in that game, the infamous TNT did).
Quick grapple moves are a lot better this year, avoiding a lot of the more "complex" attacks the past games used to use. Sure, you can still assign them, but it's much better, I feel, for the flow of the match to assign an elbow, a kick or a punch in a quick grapple slot.
I may make some "CAW Showcase" videos down the road with the 09 versions of Seth Stern and Akina (the only two CAWs I've made so far) but don't expect it that quickly. I'm still editing PD2008, after all. If anything, I may make a "commercial" for Season 3 in the show so keep your eyes peeled...
