One of the members of my forum revealed some interesting news a few weeks ago from his trip to E3 with regards to SVR09. Apparently they're doing away with the fighting style system, which is a blessing because it TERRIBLY limited what you could do as far as movesets. Instead, they're using a system called Superstar Abilities. What it basically is, the the sectioning off of all of the fighting style abilities as stand alone abilities that can be COMBINED. Yes, COMBINED. Each wrestler will be afforded 6 abilities. So you can basically create a caw that's Hardcore/High flyer/Submissionist without a problem. Basically you can combine 6 of last years abilities to create a truly unique character. Plus they've added 3 more, one of which might end up spammed to crap. It's called Resiliency, and it's the equivalent to Technical Immunity in that it's "always on". It basically makes it so that said character takes less damage then others, basically making them harder to defeat. Regular wrestlers like Taker, HHH, and (get ready for it cuz I know many of you will cry foul) Cena will more then likely have this ability. Problem is, so will every other Tom, Dick and Harry caw made by posers noobs. Sadly that's just the nature of it, but I personally love the idea, because it essentially gives us full creative freedom in what kind of wrestlers we make again.
Thoughts?

I'm not concerned about this feature's limitations since I won't be playing online. I just think it will be a big deal when it comes to online play. It certainly gives the user a lot of freedom to design a well-rounded CAW but it could be a nightmare, especially because it will get "put into the wrong hands" so to speak.

That's the exact idea that came to my mind when I 1st learned of this new ability. As far as Online goes, it might not be as bad for 360 and PS3 on account that there's no such thing as cheat devices, so it won't get as raped as one would think. It's just gonna be repetitive how many people create characters that have this ability. I myself will only have 5 who have it. Dru Nedermeyer, Simon Fierhart, Liedhamer and two other "Boss" type characters I have. CAW Leagues shouldn't have this problem, but CAW feds like mines probably will unless it's policed. We've already decided that that ability will be off limits in our operation, because we like to have things balanced. Those who play online however are in for some "fun" times so to speak. I guess you take the bad with the good.

I have to say that resiliency probably could be a problem in XWA and other efeds, but you never know one of the other features might be glitched or flawed too. Think the Kip Up feature is like a tempory version of resiliency? Not 100% sure on that. Going to pick that just for the animation of it . One thing I like is the hope that I can pick shooting star press as a normal move again, since on 07 my Logan Steel caw did it and on 08 I didn't pick High Flyer for him since he isn't really apart from the one move lol. I like the idea of being able to make unique wrestlers as I have tended to spam the Brawler ai, despite the fact I don't rate wreckshop highly lol. As I only have a woman in XWA then I highly doubt I'd consider using resilency since I am mostly about realism, I don't go much for intergender stuff. As in real life women rarely beat men without big assists lol I just like the idea of making Lauren unique again
