xbox360.ign.com/articles/862/862613p1.htmlI'm not too blown away yet since the trailer is just your standard cutscene fare, but the addition of Create a Finisher sells the game for me right there. There was talk about Create-a-Move for Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain if I remember correctly but it was only a rumor. Now, it's finally a reality. Let's just hope they don't half-ass it...and PLEASE, give us the ability to copy layers in CAW mode again!

I am sooo excited about that seriously I've been waiting for that for a long time now and the fact that the import music comes to PS3 has me giddy, I hated the fact that XBOX got the sweet ass improvement while PS3 was giving a bullshit improvement of first person ring enterance! so I'm satified with SDvR 09

Having read some opinions of this feature on other forums it got me thinking about how many times THQ has screwed us over with "great" new features that just sucked major donkey penis. After Smackdown 06 the franchise was no longer fun in terms of actual game play. The only thing that needed fixing in 06 in my opinion was the annoying stamina (I know you can turn it off but I didn't), the robotic grappling animation, your oponent never stays on the floor longer then 2 seconds to allow me to do a arial move, and a boring season mode. Other then that I don't remember having any gripes with the game. There may be others but these come to mind instantly. They fix the grappling animation in 07 but then we have new fuck ups: the title belt glitch, another crappy season, moves taken out of the game, staying knocked out on the floor for over a minute and a half and many more pleasant nuggets of ineptitude that I haven't mentioned. I haven't played 08 but I heard they completely changed the button system that die hard fans are used to since the very first smackdown and other stuff they completely messed up like the restrictive move sets I've heard about.
*Sigh* I'm still excited about the CAF mode but I'm just scetpical they don't mess up everything else around it. Now that I think about it, I'm not buying 09 until I rent first.

About the story mode, There adressing that, there is going to be a very in-depth season mode called "Road to Wrestlemania" that it is said to be excellent quaulity story. the catch is it's only for certain superstars while there will be a seperate generic storyline for CAW"s and all that

I didn't like that we were limited in the amount of wrestlers we could select for last year's Season, especially since the two wrestlers I wanted to play as were not selectable (Punk and Burke actually). I guess that's not changing this year.

I never believe them when they are saying "we're working on it". They said that about the AI and the computer is still dumb as hell. The limited season is such a crock of nonsense. Yes, seeing the Undertaker out of character dating a diva is weird but so what? It didn't bother me too much. Now we have character specific seasons meaning everytime you pick that same person they are going to have the same story. So you can never ever have a season that is different with one particular person. It may sound like there are a bunch of new stories but just how much people can you go into the season mode with? I didn't play 2008. About how many people were playable in the season? Either way, I see this game blowing. The create a finisher wont save it at all.

im really excited about this game and CAF mode and the new tag match improvements. the tag improvement will probly mean some legendary tag teams will be in the game which is great! about svr08, i liked the game overall but havent played it in ages because of online dickheads spaming FOF, using powerhouse rampage and other cheap things but mainly i just got board of it. the main problems with it i think are fists of fury and rampage because it makes the game unfair and also not being able to do downed oponent moves when the oponent is standing.

If I buy 09 it will be a used game. I think I'll feel cheated and pissed just like when I rushed to buy 07 and thought within a week this game is a drop down in quality from 06. I still haven't played 08 and I don't think I need to.

well if you dont like 07 your sure is hell wont like 08, well atelast I think it's a drop, the graphics are good as ussual and the matches flow more, but the AI is still junk, and the season mode is the worst season mode sense the orginal SDvR

It became too linear since then. I'm really not into venting cause everytime someone mentions the season mode I get pissed. There are so many damn things we've asked for in a season and they give us shit every time................wooosha, I'm going to go sit done now and try not to think about it.

I never was really crazy about Season Mode, nor was I ever crazy about the "story mode" in the past games like Raw, Wrestlemania 21 or DOR. It may sound like a bad reason to waste 60 dollars but I find enough enjoyment in the customization of wrestling games like the SVR series. If Yukes fucks with that customization, you won't see me buying their games anymore.

I doubt that they will, their not idiots. CAW is the biggest thing SVR has going if they screwed with it the series would go belly up
