When I started what was originally called the Original Wrestling Federation (Now Power Fist Wrestling), it wasn't suppose to make it this long. I would have thought that school at some point would become more important than sitting down at the computer and recording a video game wrestling match for people to watch and critique. It's been 10 years now since I've started on this journey and now it has come to an end with Summer Slamboree IX. An event that at one point I tried to just let be a CAW Version of Summer Slam and not this leagues Wrestlemania. It stuck, and I'm happy with that.
Over the past ten years I have met a lot of people, some who I continue to get along with from time to time and some who I've distanced myself from since. They, however, have had a hand in shaping what you saw today. Guys like UT who back in the old OWF days was very kind to make some of my logos for mega events when I asked him. He didn't have to, I mean he could have told me to fuck off and learn Photoshop but he didn't. He was very nice to have taken time out of his day to do those type of things for me and he is one of the first persons I want to thank.
There is really a long list of people to thank so i'll just mention a few key guys and try to keep this as short as possible (even though this has probably ran a bit long already). I'll start again with UT, who was responsible for a lot of the old logos as well as submitting guys like Black/White, Mac Right, The Omerta, Queens Secret Service (Steve Malice and Curtis Drive), Joshua Dark and most famously James Dark. Big Sky who I have butted heads with many times and is also responsible for guys like Sky, Little Whilly, The Whippets, Freak Show, and Piro McIzzy. Arcan, who not only made the first logo for PFW but submitted guys like Arcan, Krauser and Kaworu Kusanagi. Shinigami Fox for his help with booking the X Division in OWF when he had the time and submitting guys like Machine McLeod, The Mavericks, Justin Blade and Brian James. Joey Law who not only let me use his CAW Joey Law in OWF but also commentated when felt a bit burned out and helped ease the load on me. I can't thank Joey without also thanking Slip who let me use Eryc Jordison and completed Major Threat.
The list goes on so I'll just list off the rest starting with Shadowstarr, Chris Chambers, DSC, Black Rage, Spiral, Duel, Pyro, Josh, Garrett, Autumn, etc. I know there are probably some other names I'm missing but I thank you for any type of contribution you've made to this league over the last ten years.
Most importantly, I want to thank each and every person who was either a fan or just a random viewer for watching the shows and leaving feedback when possible. Feedback was a very important thing back in the NoDQ and CAW Underground days of this thing we do and it might still be a thing but I've always appreciated the ones who left feedback. Whether if it was just “Good Show” or an in-depth critique on how to improve on certain areas of the league. That type of stuff is valuable and has helped shaped this league the past ten years.
In closing, because I know you have probably only skimmed through this long ass thing. It's been a crazy, hectic and unforgiving ride. I have learned so much from people in this community (past and present) and its the type of knowledge I will quite possibly keep. The only advice I can leave any new league owner with is, do what you like but don't always let the masses dictate your product. Accept new ideas from them and if possible, tweak them to where it makes sense in your booking. Never let the audience truly run your show and if you get backlash, just remember its part of the process. Learn and Adapt.
Once again, Thank You to everyone from NoDQ and CU, to this great community here on RBN. It's been a pleasure but now Its time for me to move on and do something else I find...FUN. I'll be around..I guess.
P.S. If you're wondering whats next for me...streaming probably but most importantly getting back on track with writing on my old site and getting it back to active status.
Also if I forgot any names, DONT BE SOWAH, CLLLLLAP YOUR HANDS AND FEEEEL THA POWAH. I mean Thank You to you as well (you know who are)
