As is tradition around these parts before every URWL event, here are a few of the biggest items surrounding Episode 1 of Roughness:
"The New Black Elite" Meets "The Rust Belt Hero"
Scorpion has built a huge amount of fan support since Digital Mayhem's Freestyle Hardcore Match. In the fans' eyes, he is a talent whose effort and hard work is seemingly more important than wins or losses. Shane B. Perkins is one of the URWL's most controversial figures and one of the reasons Aleksandar Kuleshov remains undefeated after Episode 1 of URWL LIVE. Both meet in Roughness's featured match, but who will come out on top?
A New Signing?
Rumor states that the newest URWL signing will make an appearance on Roughness. This wrestler is apparently "a member of a notable virtual wrestling organization", according to URWL CEO Goldash's press conference. Who is this talent, and to what degree will he or she get involved?
Salvatore & !nterogative Face Two Storied Rivals
A tag team dream match will close out Episode 1 as its main event, pitting the Salvatore-!nterogative Alliance against URWL Champion Jaime Emo and his Number One Contender, Fusion. All four competitors share a long history with one-another and their many epic battles will lead to a fitting conclusion on Roughness. Emo and Fusion stood tall at the end of Unrivaled Ambition, embodying the ideal of "Mutual Respect". But with the latter half of Episode 2's Double Main Event pitting Emo as the special referee between Fusion and Seth Stern, how long will their alliance last? Despite aligning at Discontent, Salvatore and !nterogative have never competed in tag team action until now. Will they be too much for the Champion and Contender to contain, or will Emo and Fusion stop the Alliance reign of terror once and for all?
RBN Community Wrestler Brent Steel to Appear
The URWL announced on its Twitter a first in the virtual wrestling era --- the appearance of an independent contractor on its programming. Brent Steel will be the first. The Toronto native's exploits in leagues like Fusion Pro are well known throughout the RBN Community, but his exact role on Roughness is yet to be determined.
