[More Season 3 Info]
Even though it seems as if Season 2 just wrapped, the info for the next season has come fast and furious to the news team here! More information was made available about the upcoming season including a few new features and logos. Here is what we know in summarized list fashion!
- PFW Thursday Knockout will feature a new logo and new theme. The theme chosen is “Out of The Black” By Royal Blood and the new logo design is still being finalized.
- A new PFW Logo is also in the works and will be featured in a brand new b-roll celebrating 10 years
- Point totals from last season will not carry over, much like a soccer season, a new year means a fresh slate and on top of that the ranking system has been revamped to outfit the whole roster and not just the Rising Sun and Double Dragon divisions. This will be explained in due time.
More Info will be made available during the next weeks leading up to the Season 3 premiere.
[Winners Announced for PFW Season 2 Awards]
After a week of voting the winners have been chosen! So without all the fanfare here are the winners of the PFW Season 2 Awards!
*Best Cruiserweight/Middleweight Wrestler: Alonzo Banderas
Alonzo Banderas debuted mid-way through the season and let it be known immediately that he was a top contender when he grabbed the #1 Contenders spot in the Rising Sun Division and gave Kaworu Kusanagi a run for his title at On The Edge.
Runner Up: Kaworu Kusanagi
*Best Heavyweight Wrestler: Arcan
“The Almighty” as he is known rose up the ranks in PFW! This past season we witnessed him lose the Galactus Championship but become an even more dominate champion with the PFW World Championship. Of course he also has The Desperados to thank for his success this season as well.
Runner Up: James Dark
*Tag Team of the Season: The Desperados (Kei Saitou & Krauser)
“Just let Krauser handle it and you should be fine” Said Arcan when this team was thrown into the crowded Double Dragon Division. Who would have known that strategy would actually work...but it did and this team was one of the most dominate in the division. Sure they met their match at Summer Slamboree 8 but they controlled the division for the majority of Season 2.
Runner Up: Werewolves Of London (Johnny Bluefish & Justin Blade)
*Best Champion: Arcan (PFW Galactus & World Champion)
Once again, Arcan takes home an award that will boost his ego even more. “The Almighty” won the Galactus Championship in Season 1 but eventually in Season 2 lost it to Piro McIzzy. That didn't stop him from having a good series of matches with Brian James to determine the #1 Contender for the World Championship as he would come out victorious and go on to defeat Chris Chambers to become World Champion.
Runner Ups: * TIE * Kaworu Kusanagi (Rising Sun Championship) & The Mavericks (Double Dragon Championship
*Feud Of The Season: The Desperados V Everyone
Everyone knows that once Arcan, Krauser, Kusanagi and Saitou came together that they would be a force feared in PFW. Everyone set their sights on these four guys after nearly every title ended up in their camp. That is why it became The Desperados..Versus..EVERYONE!
Runner Up: Brian James v Arcan (Best of 5)
*Mega Event of The Season: PWF Summer Slamboree 8
Summer Slamboree 8 took place back in Japan and the people of Sapporo welcomed us with open arms. It's one of the biggest events on the calendar and it is the season finale for each PFW Season, no wonder it takes home the award this year.
Runner Ups: * TIE * Virtual Insanity 2013, Broken Hearted 2014, Road To Glory 2014 & On The Edge 2014
*Match of the Season: Arcan *Champion* Vs. Shadowstarr - PFW World Championship Falls Count Anywhere (On The Edge 2014)
People who watched this match saw Arcan given the hardest time from Shadowstarr. Throughout this match it was thought that Shadowstarr was going to be the man that took the PFW World Championship away from the reigning Arcan. Arcan would retain...but barely as both men pulled out everything to make for an exciting match and to nearly kill each other.
Runner Up: Joshua Bishop Vs. Gregory Black - Falls Count Anywhere (Summer Slamboree 8)
