Few superstars can say that they match the "culture" of Chip Davis. He is a man who enjoys classical opera, caviar and many of the finer things most normal people would never even know about. In fact, if he could be SWF Champion without having to lower himself to the level of fighting the other superstars, he'd do so in a heartbeat.
At the beginning of his career though, Chip was more well known for his cocky attitude and high flying antics. A fairly large man by normal Cruiserweight standards, Chip physically dominated most of his opponents, including his greatest rival, Damion Roquemore. The two had matches throughout the SWF's history, many revolving around the Cruiserweight Championship.
In 2011, the Cruiserweight title was merged with the United States Championship, and Chip was left without the belt he so often fought for and carried. He didn't let that piece of information get him down however, immediately setting his sights for the biggest prize of all, the SWF Championship! This dream, however, would bring him into direct conflict with the rest of the federation at the annual High Stakes match, where he shocked the world by singlehandedly eliminating multi-time winner Sam Bratton, and even made it to the top 3.
Of course, this would also spark the biggest feud of his career, as he drew the ire of that very same Sam Bratton. The two would trade barbs throughout February, March and April of 2011, costing each other various opportunities at various titles. The feud would come to a head at Mind Games VII, where Chip would gain the victory over Sam in the most dubious fashion.
He would later parlay that success into a shot at the biggest title in the SWF when he locked horns with Kyle Andrews going into Fanning the Flames. The two had a match for the ages, but in the end, Davis chose not to be successful and allow Kyle Andrews to retain the title.
Though he doesn't expect people like you to appreciate that...
