In the SWF, the biggest superstars are the ones who make the biggest impact. In a year full of rookie debuts, Alex Knight made sure his stood out, as he attacked the behemoth bodyguard of the True Blood Coalition, Zach Sparks.
Originally aligning himself with Kyle Andrews, Knight continued beating down opponents, facing the best the SWF had to offer. He looked poised to make an even bigger impact too, as he drew the lucky #20 entry into the High Stakes match, giving him the statistical advantage. It was not to be however, as he was found knocked out backstage moments before the match. His mentor Andrews “graciously” took his place, going on to win. When Knight returned, he shocked the world by telling them that Andrews had attacked him, and Andrews was forced to put his Mind Games title shot on the line against Knight at Dark Horizon. It would prove to be an even better “coming out match” for Knight, but he eventually lost, despite giving Andrews all he could handle.
Due to his performance, Knight was entered into the first ever SureShot Tournament, with the winner getting an SWF title shot at any point they wish. His SureShot road ended however in veteran John Pirtle, who defeated the wily rookie. However, at Mind Games, Knight showed his issue with Pirtle is far from over, and possibly about far more than just one match in the SureShot tourney. With Pirtle in the final match, Knight ran down and distracted the referee after Pirtle put Kizzar down with an Alpha Slam.
Beginning the third season, it was believed that Alex Knight would find himself at odds with John Pirtle, but again, the Impact Maker proved that no man could predict what turn his career would take, when he aligned himself with Pirtle and PG13 to become the third member of the Repeat Offenders. It was a short-lived alliance however, as PG13 took it upon himself to take out Pirtle. Knight took exception to this plan though, and vowed to get revenge on PG13 for taking away his mentor before he had a chance to learn everything he could.
