Where are the ads?

If anyone was wondering where all the ads are at the top of every page, Proboards is having major problems with ads infecting users computers with all sorts of 'wonderful' viruses. So far they've all been of the vicious and ruthless variety...downloading themselves disabling installed anti-virus software...and last but not least destroying OS and frying hard drives.

So when they do re-enable ads I'd advise everyone to make sure their anti-virus software is up to date. Thank you this has been a public service announcement from one of your friendly "Rantboard" mods.

Just to add to this for those of you who use Firefox there is an add-on called Ad-Block Plus, there are probably add-ons for other browsers too so if the advertisements annoy you on websites give them a try.

I personally hate the ads on Proboards with a passion so I've been using the NOSCRIPT extension in Firefox for a while and have had no problems.

Those of you who have owned or have been on Proboards forums know that there have been some odd ads such as for "fat dating" websites and gay pornography that pop up once in a while. I'm glad to be rid of all of that stuff, it just struck me as odd.

Yeah the ads have been weird like you mentioned and they really do just spoil the look of a board IMO.

I remember it used too advertise lesbian dating which is kinda funny on a site like this
