New Raw Intro/Nickelback Themesong to Debut Monday

Another sign of the apocalypse. According to a poster on the Wrestlecrap forums, Raw will be getting a new introduction next week and a new theme song by the biggest disgraces to Canada since Hacksaw Jim Duggan "turned" on the United States at Fall Brawl 2000 in Buffalo...Nickelback.

Apparently a Wrestlecrapper went to the show in Buffalo this past Monday (which I sadly did not attend, shame, because it was excellent IMHO) and said that WWE was shooting footage for a new intro that will debut next week.

At the show during one of the commercial breaks Josh Mathews came out and said to the crowd that they were going to be in the new opening video for Raw next week, and said to yell "hey" when the titantron prompted to during the song.

The song in question is menu music in NHL 10 for those that are familiar with the game, and is featured briefly in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. As if that wasn't already a sign of the apocalypse to begin with (no, I didn't think it was as horrible a movie as people said but I'm surprised the world didn't explode when the mediocrity that is Nickelback collided with the mediocrity that is Michael Bay).

I like Nickelback, but to be honest the recent wrestling intros didn't seem to fit either, and the wrestling themes seem to suffer from severely borrowed parts which IMO tends to make them less memorable. If the intro song bugs you that much just tune in 5 minutes later to avoid it. I mean I haven't watched WWE that much since around 2005/2006. TNA I've tried to get into being as its the only wrestling I get on TV here, but still the opening theme songs to wrestling are a minor issue. Something that wouldn't sway me to watch or not to watch.

I mean Don't Question My Heart for ECW? Doesn't say extreme to me at all. I liked the original one with Heyman saying "This is Extreme" better. I just suppose they feel they need to change them every now and again. Can't please everyone.
