Well, I don't know how to start this thread except for "I like music". There's a thousand bands I appreciate. I can't put my finger on only one simply because all have different strengths and weaknesses.
I appreciate the album format, not a collection of singles. I'm mainly a rock/metal fan but I can listen to just about anything.
Instead of making this thread a novel, here are some albums I'm currently listening to (and this mood changes often):
-The Mars Volta "The Bedlam in Goliath" -KISS "KISS" -Metallica "...And Justice For All" -The Guess Who "Canned Wheat" -Rush "Exit...Stage Left" -The Tragically Hip "Up To Here" -Megadeth "Rust In Peace"
So...what piques your musical interests?

Some of my friends and I actually find bands like Dimmu Borgir and Immortal hilarious but I think it's just our fascination with the culture of black metal and why it's the way it is. It just seems kinda funny for us for some reason since these guys come from the far reaches of Scandinavia and probably have a much different opinion of metal culture than we in America do.

I been trying recently to expand my musical horizons however I've never listened to R&B, Rap, or Hip Hop and I have no idea where to start on listening to those genres. I'm really doing this to better my CAW league by having a diverse selection of music any help or suggestions as far as Artists, types of Rap, or anything to do with this would be greatly appreciated. Cause I totally lost on where to start.

I'll take you guys' suggestions hopefully I can find some good music of course I'm getting a Msc soon so I'll just be scouting and not downloading.

it all ended for me after the eminem show....dr dre 2001/2003 or whatever was really good and pretty funny, but didnt like TES.
don't forget THE grandfathers of rap and hip hop. public enemy run DMC SUGARHILL GANG old snoop and dr. dre/NWA 2pac BIG honorable mention- cypress hill
enough said. they were/are at least intellgent rhymers who had catchy phrases, and at least polticial/social extremeists like run or PE who had meaning to their lyrical content comapred to today's drug, substance, and sexual driven content.

Well on another side of the spectrum, I could see Motley Crue and Theory of a Deadman in February, when they come to the Sommet Center.
