After over a year of hiatus, World CAW Wrestling has announced that they will return on July 10 with "Clash of the Champions: The Return of WCW," where "Battlebowl" will take place to determine a new WCW Champion. "This is a very exciting moment for us. We have been away for so long, but now it feels great to come back. We got a lot of surprises in store for our fans, and we hope they enjoy the product that is the NEW WCW," WCW owner Stephanie McMahon said.
The last time WCW was on air, it was the 25th episode of Nitro, where Triple H was named CEO of WCW and told then-WCW Nitro GM Ric Flair to either improve Nitro or start looking for another line of work. "During our year away, we had to look over this roster and told everyone that if your goal is not to make WCW better, there's the door. We're here to prove that we are where the action is. And with all due respect to WTW, DCA, and other CAW Leagues out there, we believe that we have the better product and come July 10, you will see what we mean. We're looking forward to prove that here in WCW, not only is our pride showing, but we will be reaching for the stars," CEO Triple H said.
Already confirmed is that Nitro will be WCW's main show. Also, WCW will only have four CPVs: Fall Brawl in September, SuperBrawl in February, Slamboree in May, and WCW's BIG MEGA CPV Starrcade in December. "We will announce more news later, but for now, we're gonna be looking for more talent to add to WCW and get ready for July 10," Triple H said.
Concluding the press conference, Stephanie McMahon sent a clear message to DCA Takedown GM Shazine Fria. "Shazine, you think you're the most powerful woman in CAW, let me remind you, I'm a McMahon. My family made all this possible. If not been for the McMahons, you would be somewhere at Hooters waiting tables. So I strongly advise that you mind DCA's business and leave all the other league's business alone," she said.
