Orchard Park, New York: URWL administration has come under fire in recent days from the wrestling media and the Internet Wrestling Community over an apparent mishandling by a URWL official during Digital Mayhem 2008's URWL HighFlyer Title match between CobrA and Taurus. After Taurus hit his "Aerial Impaler" finisher, Cordaro ran into the ring disguised as a fan and proceeded to take Taurus out with a vicious springboard head scissors takedown. As URWL HighFlyer Champion CobrA pinned the downed Taurus, Cordaro relaxed on the ropes, his work done. After CobrA got the win and continued his URWL-best undefeated streak, fans were perplexed. Why didn't the referee step in? How could he have let Cordaro into the ring? Why wasn't URWL Event Security tighter?
Plans to deal with the matter were addressed at an urgent meeting between URWL CEO Goldash007, URWL Chairman VinceNeil1981 and the URWL Board of Directors (which includes URWL Head Lawyer Jack Stern, uncle of URWL Rookie of the Year Seth Stern). After this meeting, URWL CEO Goldash007 addressed the media.
"We have not spoken to either Victor Cordaro, the URWL HighFlyer Champion, CobrA, or the referee of that specific contest ourselves. However, the board, myself and the Chairman have agreed that the referee did not follow protocol and must have been bribed to call the match in the way he did. We do not know who is responsible. URWL administration, however, does not condone this action and was not responsible for what this URWL referee did during the Digital Mayhem 2008 supercard. We are currently investigating whether Cordaro, CobrA or the referee himself was responsible for this disgusting act. We apologize to those who think the quality of our in-ring product has been compromised."
Taurus was advised to stay out of the matter by URWL administration until a perpetrator has been found. Because of this, Taurus will not be booked in Episode 7...but will that be enough to keep The Bull away?
