If any of you watched RAW last night you may have witnessed the reemergence of King Of The Ring. It started out really strong with Jericho vs. MVP having a good bout then giving us a much too quick CM Punk vs. Matt Hardy. After that point the tourney gets shitty. They give us Khali vs Finlay, which was used to forward the most epic feud of all time (note the sarcasm) between Khali and Show. This should have been a regular match and not installed into the KOTR tournament at all. It was a waste of a bracket and foolish. I hated it. Then we have William Regal, who I have no problem with, against Hornswoggle? Who picked these entrants anyway? We could have had Shelton, Morrison, Miz, Carlito, Cody, Palumbo, Noble, Festus, Jessy, Burke, or even Burchill who could use a push to superstardom. But no, Hornswoggle and Khali.
Jericho and Punk have an excellent match where Punk finally gets revenge on Y2J for their post WM bout. Regal uses the much missed Regal Stretch to advance and we have Punk v Regal. Once again, I have no troubles with Regal who is an excellent worker and is better than half the roster but he's been GM for months and has only wrestled sporadically as late. Regal beating the Money In The Bank winner clean only makes me see Punk as a chump that couldn't beat devout mid-carder Chavo or old timer Regal. I so surely see Punk being the first to cash in on MITB and lose unlike Edge and RVD. So now we have Regal as king. A man who doesn't even need a royalty gimmick since he's used it before.
It just seems foolish to me. They could have given this to someone else for Punk to feud with. It just doesn't sit right with me at all. There are just so many things they could have done with this but they chose something else.
*Goes to watch an ROH DVD to calm his nerves*
