Not a lot of information has been revealed about TNA's first wrestling game, but hopefully it will be enjoyable. It certainly LOOKS more impressive than SmackDown at this stage (sorry to those with low-res monitors): ...it looks good, but will it play good? A preview I read on ComputerandVideoGames.com said the Midway team is looking to emulate real wrestling as accurately as possible...but isn't that what Studio Gigante said when they developed the disappointing Wrestlemania 21? Honestly, I can't tell until I play it. But...if there's a four-sided ring, a good CAW mode and good gameplay, don't be surprised I plan at least an exhibition match with the URWL...but, you never know. Something tells me the CAW mode won't be as deep as SVR 2008. Plus, I'm not moving the URWL into a six-sided ring. Sorry. That's TNA's gimmick only.

Too bad Kaz isn't in the game....Kaz pwns. They only have :
Abyss Kurt Angle Booker T Christian Cage Christopher Daniels Sonjay Dutt Hernandez Christy Hemme Homicide Jeff Jarrett Jay Lethal Rhino Chris Sabin Samoa Joe Senshi Alex Shelley Scott Steiner Sting A.J. Styles Eric Young Which doesn't make sense because: 1. Why only have Christy Hemme on roster instead of Gail Kim.ODB, or Awesome Kong? 2. Neither Senshi or Christopher Daniels works for TNA (Note: Daniels works for New Japan Pro Wrestling under gimmick "Curry Man") 3. Sting hasn't wrestled since his Angle feud in October. 4. And Jeff Jarrett doesn't wrestle nemore.
And they couldn't even but in Kaz?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?! He's the future!!!!!

New gameplay videos:
...the game is looking pretty impressive, I must say. But it's not impressive enough for the URWL...all because of the six-sided ring and what I think will probably be a limited CAW mode...but you never know...

I've been reading on this game. It looks really good. If I get a ps3 or xbox 360 soon I'll consider getting it. Of course that would be after I rent it first.

News Flash: The game has officially been pushed back to September instead of the planned June release date. Hopefully this is to add more talent to the roster ,and better challenge SVR09. Still think it's going to come up short. Does anyone know if they included a title match feature and the story mode is still my big question?

Like Smackdown, they make the roster rather early in game development. That is why Smackdown usually gives us late varients of talent like giving us King Booker in Smackdown 08 instead of in 07. TNA had their roster completed ages ago and it's too late to revamp. Senshi was just under contract when they started making the roster.
But you're right, they should have a much larger roster. I guess they are testing the waters to see how sucessful the game is. Remember, they have to pay everyone who appears in the game. I assume they want to protect their pockets for the unknown future.

Midway has claimed that iMPACT will be the "framework" for more games in the series. I'm not expecting wonders from this game, so hopefully the gameplay will be enjoyable enough. At this point, it looks like a rental for me.

I've decided to buy iMPACT since I want something different out of my wrestling games. DOR was such a breath of fresh air when I bought a used copy of it to play on my Wii that any wrestling game other than SmackDown will satisfy me at this point. A lot of gaming sites are praising the game's reversal system and "fluid gameplay", but judging by some recent videos, some animations aren't too easy on the eyes (Joe's wrestling stance in the latest trailer reminds me of WWF Attitude, and that's NOT a good thing).

If only CAW leagues had commentary this enthusiastic. ;D A lot of the previews of this game from various gaming sites praised this game's animations, and after seeing that video, I have to agree. They're among the most realistic motion-captured moves I've ever seen in a wrestling game. But enough of how stuff moves, HOW WILL IT PLAY? I hope Midway provides a demo in the next few weeks so I can finally make a decision about paying 60 for this game. Gameplay will make or break this game, as I'm not expecting much in the way of story or CAW (because I won't be switching the URWL to the game). If the gameplay provides a fresh alternative to the SVR series, I'm in.

A purple polo shirt? Wow...hopefully it's an alternate or something...didn't he wear his normal ring attire at the last TNA PPV?
